Last year at this time, I discovered Costa Rica. I fell in love with this country and their “Pura Vida” lifestyle. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica, chances are your plane will land at San Jose airport.
AC Hotel San Jose Escazu is only 25 minutes from the airport. A taxi ride of about $26USD.

Taxis will stop at the parking level, just take the elevator to the lobby. The entrance to the reception is very large. There are several art elements that adorn the entrance.
The service at the reception was great, fast and efficient. The receptionist explained all of the hotel services and accompanied me to the elevators.

I had a room on the 5th floor with a king bed. The style of the hotel is very clean.
The amenities in the room are simple but sufficient.
Iron, space to hang clothes, coffee machine.
The bathroom was very modern and clean with a shower only.
I liked that the cleaning products are bulk dispensers, this significantly reduces the plastic consumption of single use bottles.
The breakfast was buffet style as well as with some a la card options.
The lunch offered plenty of choices for all tastes. I really liked the little “plus” that came with the coffee, a little chocolate with SALUD on it.
There was a small oven to warm up the croissants, and it was also possible to cut slices of proscuitto. There was a good balance of healthy, sweet and salty options.
We can find a Spanish type of cuisine, as tapas and similar are on offer. I particularly liked the terrace outside.
The hotel gym is a good size with basic facilities. Complimentary towels, juice, headphones and fruit are provided.
There is a business center available, equipped with a computer with printer and a tablet.
No swimming pool in the hotel. However, it is possible to use the one at the Residence Inn, which is located just across the street. You just have to ask the reception for a key to access it. The pool is nothing special, it is very basic. It’s always nice to cool off on a hot day.
The AC Hotel San Jose Escazu is the perfect choice for your departure/return point to Costa Rica, located only 30 minutes from the airport.
It is also located near the Multi Plaza Escazù shopping center.
The decor is very modern and the staff verythrough. I highly recommend it!
