Buy Aeroplan Points: the offer

You can save up to 50% when you purchase Aeroplan points. Here are the details of the purchase with the discounted price:

Please note that these percentages or point levels may change slightly depending on your Aeroplan profile.

This is a recurring promotion; the latest offers were 30% off last February and up to 45% off last March.

You can purchase or donate between 6,000 and 500,000 Aeroplan points per transaction to take advantage of this offer. The maximum eligible points are 1,000,000 Aeroplan points per calendar year.

For your information, some sales taxes are added to the purchase if you pay with a Canadian address. Whereas with a U.S. address, there are no sales taxes.

For example, it costs $1,400 (before taxes) to purchase 80,000 Aeroplan points. This is equivalent to 1.75 cents per Aeroplan point. This is still very good, as our Aeroplan point valuation is 2 cents.

By comparison, the current offer for the TD^MD Aeroplan^MD Visa Infinite* Card earns up to 70,000 Aeroplan points, free of charge for the first year.

Whereas to buy 70,000 points with the 35% discount, the cost is $1,592.50. This is equivalent to 2.3 cents per Aeroplan point.

That’s more than our Aeroplan point valuation of 2 cents. So buying points at 35% costs more than they’re worth.
