Now it’s WestJet Rewards ‘ turn to launch a special offer offering savings of up to 40% on the purchase of WestJet dollars. To take advantage of this offer, you must be a member of the loyalty program and go to the WestJet dollars purchase page. This offer ends on July 31, 2023.

Here are the different levels of the points purchase offer:

You can purchase up to 3,000 WestJet dollars per calendar year to take advantage of this offer.
For your information, sales taxes are added to the purchase price if you pay with a Canadian address. Whereas with a U.S. address, there are no sales taxes.
Is the offer worth it?
The WestJet Rewards program is easy to calculate: according to Milesopedia’s semi-annual estimate, 1 WestJet dollar = $1.
At the current price and with the 40% discount on the purchase price of WestJet dollars, each WestJet dollar costs you $1.20 before taxes. Unfortunately, this is not an attractive offer.

For the time being, this WestJet dollars promotion is not advantageous according to our calculations. If WestJet Rewards follows the same trend of offers related to the purchase of points and miles as other loyalty programs such as Aeroplan or Marriott Bonvoy, perhaps their next promotions of this kind will be worthwhile.
