The purpose of this document is to inform Users of our Website about the Personal Information we collect.
This text details the terms and conditions of how we and our partners store and/or access information stored on a terminal and process Personal Data to deliver personalized advertisements and content, measure the performance of ads and content, obtain audience statistics, and develop and improve products.

(“PIPEDA”), as well as in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act in the private sector [R.S.Q., chapter P-39.1]..
” Consent Consent” is defined as any free, specific, informed and unambiguous expression of will by which the data subject accepts, by a declaration or by a clear positive Act, that Personal Data concerning him or her being processed.
” Personal Information” means Personal information” includes “personal information” as defined in subsection 2(1) of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act [S.C. 2000, c. 5]and as amended or replaced from time to time.
” Snooper” (also called a Browser “) is a complex and evolving software that allows you to browse the Internet from a computer, phone or tablet (e.g., Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc.).
” Digital marker “(also known as a Witness ” or ” Cookie A “cookie” is a computer file created by a User’s browser to store certain pieces of information – such as Data about the User’s browsing habits – that the Web server can use for reference on the same or subsequent visits.
” Website “(also called ” Website ” or ” Site “) is a collection of hyperlinked Web pages and resources defined and accessible from a Browser via a Web address (or ” URL “for Uniform Resource Locator), all registered under the same domain name. It contains different types of content (text and multimedia) and is hosted on a Web server.
” User “(also called a User “or ” Visitor “) means an individual using a Browser to access content on the Internet.
The nature of the Internet is such that Web servers may collect certain information when a Web Site is accessed, including the Internet Protocol address (also known as the ” IP adress“) of visitors.
IP addresses are specific numbers assigned by Internet Service Providers (also called “ISP “) for all devices used to access the Internet. Web servers automatically log the IP addresses of people who visit the corresponding Sites. The IP address alone does not identify a person. However, in certain circumstances, with the cooperation of an ISP, for example, it could identify a person visiting a Site. That is why MILESOPEDIA considers the IP address to be personal information, especially when combined with other Data automatically collected when a visitor accesses a Web page, such as the page(s) accessed, date and time. However, the software packages used by Milesopedia could collect this type of information and the addresses and names of users.
MILESOPEDIA uses external software packages such as Google Analytics, Convertkit, etc., to monitor its Site and ensure that it performs adequately. When you visit our Web Site, these software packages automatically and temporarily store the information transmitted by your Browser in our Web server.
Information automatically stored in our server when you browse our Site (unrestricted list)
Other information could be collected.
In most cases, this is anonymous statistical data. We do not attempt to link this data or the IP addresses of computers that contact our Website to the identity of individuals visiting our Site unless an attempt to damage the Site has been detected, a threat is expressed in a message received on the Site, or the law requires it.
When services are provided by organizations other than the Website MILESOPEDIAWebsite, such as social media platforms or mobile applications, IP addresses may be recorded by the independent service provider’s web server.
Unless otherwise noted, MILESOPEDIA does not collect any specific personal information about you, such as your name, phone number or e-mail address, from our Website. We only obtain this information if you provide it to us, for example, by sending us an e-mail or filling out a form (e.g., a contest, registration for our newsletter, etc.).

We collect non-personal (anonymous) Data for the following purposes:
We use volatile or persistent digital markers in certain parts of the Website MILESOPEDIA to store information during a given session. During your visit to the Site, your Browser exchanges information with our web server. Volatile or persistent digital tags facilitate this exchange by reminding the server from which computer the request originated. The Digital Markers do not allow employees of the Site to MILESOPEDIA to identify Users.

You can adjust your Browser settings to reject the Digital Markers. However, your navigation on the Site may be affected.
MILESOPEDIA collects Data using invisible pixels on its Website, i.e. codes on particular web pages that make it possible to follow the “tracks” of Internet users.
Specifically, our Site uses the visitor behaviour pixel from Facebook and other networks such as Linkedin and Google. The behaviour of site visitors can be tracked after they click on an advertisement on the provider’s website. The effectiveness of advertisements on the networks can thus be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising campaigns optimized.
The data collected is anonymous to MILESOPEDIA and we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of users.
However, the data is stored by search engines and social networks. Therefore, they can be processed to make a connection to the respective user profile possible. Furthermore, the network can use the data for its advertising purposes, according to the network’s data usage guidelines.
In the privacy policy of these networks, you will find more information about the protection of your privacy at these links:

Web analytics is the collection, analysis, aggregation and presentation of data about Web site traffic and usage to understand and optimize Web usage. The information provided by Digital Markers may be used for web analytics based on your online interactions with the Site MILESOPEDIA.
We use Google Analyticsa web analytics service developed by Google LLC to help us measure trends in web traffic to, from and within our Site. This tool uses “session” and “persistent” cookies to collect standard web entry information and track visitor behaviour anonymously. Persistent cookies are stored on your computer for two (2) years after your last visit to the Websites. The information generated by the cookies during your visit to our Site (including your truncated IP address) is transmitted to Google. No personally identifying information is stored or provided to Google. For more information, please visit Google Analytics and its Privacy Policy.
We also use Clarity which is a tool for analyzing user behaviour through heat maps developed by Microsoft. It allows us to understand how Internet users interact with a Web site. Our Clarity account is connected to our Google Analytics account to access as much detailed data as possible for your Site. Note that Clarity is RGPD and CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) compliant. Find out more, consult the Microsoft Site.
Linkedin also uses a tracking script that may also use a tracking pixel, as mentioned above.
In short, this anonymous information is used to assess how visitors use the Site and to compile traffic statistics. Aggregate data and statistical reports are used only to help us make our Site more useful to visitors and are accessible only to web managers and other designated staff who need this information to perform their duties.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by disabling or refusing Digital Markers, disabling JavaScript in your browser, or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Even after disabling Google Analytics or JavaScript, you can still access comparable information or services from our Site. This action will not disable the tracking pixels.
However, if you change your Browser settings to refuse Cookies or receive a warning each time a Cookie is stored on your computer, your browsing experience may be significantly slower. Please refer to your provider’s Browser instruction manual to disable Cookies or JavaScript.
