Starting today, Aeroplan members can directly redeem their points for cruise packages with Air Canada Vacations. This new option includes itineraries departing from popular destinations like Fort Lauderdale, Hawaii, Barcelona, and many more.
This announcement from Air Canada Vacations opens up new possibilities for Aeroplan points holders, who can redeem them for a flight ticket, a hotel room with HotelSavers, a car rental, or an all-inclusive package.
Over 100 cruise itineraries are now available for redemption with your Aeroplan points. These cruises depart from ports located worldwide:
Redeeming Aeroplan points for a cruise is done entirely online on the Air Canada Vacations website. The process is simple, and redemption takes place in the Payment section.
The rest of the payment can be made with a credit card.
When booking, click on Use Points on the right side of the screen. You just need to redeem Aeroplan points for a cruise with Air Canada Vacations, starting from as few as 1,000 points.
You can choose the number of points you want, in increments of 1,000 Aeroplan points.
For example, if your cruise costs $1,500 and you use 100,000 Aeroplan points, this will give you a $1,000 discount. So, you will only have a remainder of $500 left to pay.
Aeroplan members can earn Aeroplan points only on the “flight” portion of their cruise.
The most effective strategy for earning Aeroplan points is to hold an Aeroplan credit card, which is the simplest way to convert your everyday spending into travel points.
Additionally, you earn more points when you pay for your trip booked on Air Canada Vacations with an Aeroplan credit card:
So, if you charge your $1,000 booking to an American Express® Aeroplan®* Reserve Card, it will earn you 3,000 Aeroplan points (3 points per dollar x $1,000).
