Beginning November 6, 2024, travellers will have the opportunity, to depart on 10 routes operated by airBaltic, in Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania with a single ticket. Bookings are already available.
Air Canada said it was delighted to expand its long-standing partnership with airBaltic “which will enable greater connectivity and convenience for travel between Canada and Northern Europe”.
In a press release, Air Canada states that the network will serve the capital cities of Vilnius in Lithuania, Riga, Latvia, and Tallinn in Estonia from a number of European cities, including Copenhagen and Amsterdam.
The Canadian company added that on the same date, airBaltic will feature two routes operated by Air Canada from Toronto to Copenhagen and Amsterdam.
Next summer, airBaltic’s codeshare flights will be added to Air Canada’s seasonal routes between Montreal and Copenhagen and Amsterdam, as well as on the Toronto-Stockholm route.
Following the departure of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) from Star Alliance on September 1 to join SkyTeam, this is definitely welcome news for Aeroplan and Air Canada users.
Air Canada has indicated that the two airlines are currently working to offer reciprocal privileges to members of their frequent flyer programs.
In Canada, the major banks offer credit cards in partnership with the Aeroplan loyalty program.
Some of these credit cards like the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card, which allow you to earn points on everyday spending, offer many benefits, including full travel insurance coverage and free checked baggage.
