Following the alliance between Petro-Canada and Canadian Tire in the fall of 2023, it is now possible to earn Canadian Tire 'Money' at Petro-Canada stations.
Canadian Tire and Petro-Canada Partnership
Petro-Canada and Canadian Tire have been united since the fall of 2023.
Since this announcement, the 200 Gas+ Canadian Tire gas stations are being gradually converted to Petro-Canada stations. They join the 1,500 existing Petro-Canada stations.
Secondly, the Triangle Rewards program and the Petro-Points program have formed a multi-year partnership. As of March 26, 2024, Triangle Rewards members can earn CT money at Petro-Canada. Petro-Points members can then collect and redeem Petro-Points at Gas+ service stations.

After linking your accounts, you’ll see the option to convert your Petro-Points into CT Money.
The Triangle Rewards program has 11 million members and the Petro-Points program has 3 million members. Each retains control of its respective program, and there is no merger in sight, according to the announcement.
Members can spend 1X and accumulate 2X by linking their Triangle Rewards and Petro-Points accounts in :
- Earn CT Money and 20% additional Petro-Points on every gas purchase;
- Convert Petro-Points to CT Money for redemption at any Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark’s, Pro Hockey Life, Party City, Sports Experts, etc.
Customers without linked accounts can still get up to 7 cents per liter in CT Money on gas :
- Up to 3 cents/litre of gas in CT Money with Triangle Rewards when paying by cash or debit;
- Accumulate 5 to 7 cents / liter in CT Money on gas when paying with a Triangle credit card.
You don’t need to scan your 2 Petro-Points and Triangle Rewards loyalty cards at Petro-Canada. Just one is enough, if you’ve tied them correctly.
Petro-Points cannot be accumulated and redeemed at Canadian Tire gas bars or Canadian Tire stores; they must be converted to CT Money first.

- 1,000 Petro-Points = $1 in CT Money
