Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Booking

Out of 13 nights in Japan, we had planned six days in Tokyo. Staying in Tokyo can be very expensive. We first stayed at the The Westin Tokyo. As a member Marriott Bonvoy, we wanted to find a central hotel for the end of our stay, one that was a member of the group, had an executive lounge and complimentary breakfast, and was convenient for our trip to Disney Tokyo. Alternatives - Hilton and Accor

Tokyo, being a global metropolis, offers a plethora of luxury accommodation options, notably in the Hilton and Accor hotel chains. Here are some interesting alternatives:

Hilton Tokyo

Hilton Tokyo Odaiba: Located on the artificial island of Odaiba, this hotel offers spectacular views of the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo skyline, with easy access to shopping malls and entertainment attractions.

Conrad Tokyo: A luxury Hilton hotel, Conrad Tokyo is renowned for its elegance, gourmet restaurants and breathtaking views of Tokyo Bay.

Hilton Tokyo Bay: As the official hotel of Tokyo Disneyland, it offers a magical experience for families and theme park fans, with themed rooms and easy access to the park.

Accor Group

Pullman Tokyo Tamachi: Combining modern design and Japanese tradition, this hotel offers a sophisticated experience with convenient access to Tokyo’s business and entertainment districts.

Ibis Styles Tokyo Ginza: This ibis is ideal for designer accommodation and access to Ginza’s luxury shopping. The metro is within easy reach of all the other districts.

Mercure Tokyo Ginza: Also located in the chic Ginza district and with direct access to the subway, the Mercure hotel is highly rated. It offers comfortable, state-of-the-art rooms.

Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Location

Located in a lively business district, the Marriott Tokyo Hotel offers easy access to Haneda airport (11 km) and the city center. An airport shuttle service is available at regular times at a cost of JPY 720 per trip. You can get there by bus or cab.

On-site parking is available for JPY 600 per hour or JPY 2,000 per day. Charges are available for electric cars. We took this option having rented a car on the last day to continue our road trip to Fuji, Osaka and Kyoto.

Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Registration

Once parked, we took the elevator to the check-in counter: you have to cross a long corridor which at the end leads to the entrance of the building; the counter is halfway up, in a room off to the side. A sofa faces the entrance to this room, and a little further down the corridor, a space with a cash dispenser and a printer separated by a smoked glass wall. The space serves as an office, I think.

Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Rooms

The hotel offers a variety of rooms:

  • Superior with king-size bed on low or high floor
  • Deluxe with two single beds on low or high floor
  • Deluxe with king-size bed on high or low level
  • Deluxe for smokers on upper floor
  • Pure Wellness with two single beds
  • Pure Wellness with king-size bed
  • Executive with two single beds
  • Executive with king-size bed
  • Junior Suite, Family room with Club lounge access, Twin-bedded Junior Suite
  • Junior Suite, Executive Premier room with access to Club lounge with two single beds
  • Junior Suite, Executive Premier room with Club lounge access and king-size bed
  • Junior Suite, with access to Club lounge with two single beds and skyline view
  • Royal Suite, with Club lounge access and king-size bed
  • Gotenyama Suite with Club lounge access and king-size bed
  • Presidential Suite with Club lounge access and two king-size beds

We got a Pure Wellness room. It was spacious, which is quite a luxury in Tokyo, with a king bed and access to the Club executive lounge.

Tokyo Marriott Hotel-2

The set was relatively modern. The room includes a chest of drawers, a round table for two and a chair, a suitcase furniture, and a sofa area.

As there were four of us, we had to squeeze together to sleep in the king bed. Finding rooms suitable for families with young children is tricky unless you take a second room.

When we arrived in the room, two adorable bath kits were waiting for the children on the chest of drawers:

  • a pink bath kit for our daughter and a blue one for our son,
  • one nightdress each,
  • slippers.

In the dressing room, two bathrobes were hung with Marriott slippers on their feet.

In addition to the coffee corner with Nespresso capsules, we found a well-stocked mini-fridge with various drinks and a bottle of red wine in a drawer.

The bathroom was a nice size and clean. The beige colour and the tiles gave it an old-fashioned look. It had a Toto toilet, a single-sink stone countertop and a bathtub/shower. The water pressure was good. However, we were limited in towels.

Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Restaurants

The Lounge and Dining G

The entrance to the building opens onto a central room, the Lounge & Dining G restaurant area, which is open for breakfast and lunch. There are several indoor areas, and the outdoor Gotenyama terrace is the perfect place to enjoy the restaurant’s menus or afternoon tea.

Tokyo Marriott Hotel-35

A low wall demarcates the restaurant areas. As you enter the restaurant, the first counter on the left allows you to order a takeaway dessert from Pastry & Bakery GGCo, while on the right is a bar area with low tables and low armchairs; then behind the bar is the buffet area for breakfast.

They serve a full international breakfast. It has:

  • a salad, cheese, charcuterie and cereal bar;
  • various milks, smoothies and juices with tomato, vegetables, fruit, apple and orange;
  • fruit and yoghurt;
  • bread, doughnuts, pastries, doughnuts and muffins, even with natural honey from a beehive frame;
  • traditional hot dishes include soups, Japanese omelettes, meat, vegetables, eggs, etc.

A waiter brought our coffees to the table.

Le G Wa Sélection

This restaurant is open for dinner and serves traditional Japanese cuisine.

Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Other services

Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Fitness room

The fitness center is large and open every day at all times. It is well equipped with quality weights, dumbbells, balls, cardio-training, and strength-training equipment. Little plus: the cork floor. Even if it makes the room look less pretty, this one was comfortable and ideal for floor exercises. Towels and a water dispenser are also available.

Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Lounge

The hotel offers its platinum members and above access to its Executive Club lounge. The lounge is on a high floor with a beautiful city view. We didn’t take much advantage of it and didn’t see the dishes during the day or evening, but it’s pleasant and offers a liquor bar, snacks, pastries and fruit outside meal services.

Marriott Tokyo Hotel - Around the hotel

Near the Marriott Hotel, immerse yourself in the aquatic world of Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa: dolphins, otters and fireworks. End your day with a picturesque evening, embarking on a dinner cruise with Shinagawa Yakatabune Funasei on a traditional tatami floor.

Garden lovers will appreciate the serenity of Gotenyama Garden, while aviation enthusiasts can test their flying skills at Skyart Japan’s B777 flight simulator within easy walking distance. For an iconic view of the city, Tokyo Tower rises majestically, and for a contemporary cultural experience, Roppongi Hills is worth exploring for its exhibitions, museums and other entertainment.

Gourmets will delight in local izakayas and lively street markets. Shopaholics will love Wing Takanawa, and a short train ride will take you to Tokyo’s cultural treasures and electrifying entertainment.

Each site offers a unique experience, promising unforgettable memories in the heart of Tokyo.
