Aeroplan credit cards: earn 40% more points on all your purchases

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Aeroplan program, Aeroplan credit card holders can take advantage of an offer to earn faster!

Between July 14 and July 17, 2024, you’ll earn 40% more points with your American Express, TD and CIBC Aeroplan credit card.

During these 3 special days, Aeroplan primary credit cardholders earn an additional 40% points per dollar spent on all eligible purchases.

Please note that you must register on Aeroplan’s promotion page to earn your wonderful Aeroplan bonus points.

For example, a $100 purchase at the grocery store with an American Express^®* Aeroplan^® Reserve Card will give you :

• 200 Aeroplan base points (2 points / $1 purchase)
• 80 Aeroplan bonus points (40% of 200 base points)

For a total of 280 Aeroplan points! It’s as if every dollar gave you 2.8 Aeroplan Points, instead of 2.

With a TD^MD Aeroplan^MD Visa Infinite* Card, that same $100 at the grocery store will give you:

• 150 Aeroplan base points (1.5 points / $1 purchase)
• 60 Aeroplan bonus points (40% of 150 basis points)

For a total of 210 Aeroplan points.

It takes between 10 weeks (for American Express and TD credit cards) and 12 weeks (for CIBC credit cards) after the end of the offer period (July 17) to receive bonus points.

No Aeroplan credit card? No problem!

If you’ve never had an Aeroplan co-branded credit card and you’re missing out on the 40% bonus points promotion above, you’ve got another chance.

Between July 8 and July 17, 2024, sign up for an Aeroplan credit card and earn 40% in bonus points during 40 days upon approval.

The conditions are similar to those for the promotion of current holders:

• Eligible American Express, TD and CIBC credit cards are the same as above;
• Bonus points for the 40% will be deposited within a maximum of 10 weeks (for American Express and TD) and up to 12 weeks (for CIBC) after July 17;
• The maximum eligible purchase is $40,000;
• The calculation for bonus points is the same as in the previous section.

So if you’re approved for a TD, American Express or CIBC Aeroplan card on July 10, for example, you have until August 19 inclusive (40 days later) to take advantage of this 40% bonus in Aeroplan points. Use our Aeroplan credit cards comparison to choose the best card for your needs!
