Air Canada announces enhanced customer experience

To the point Air Canada is enhancing its customer experience by unveiling improved products in airport lounges, in-flight dining and entertainment, among others.

Several improvements to Air Canada’s services are on the horizon for November and early 2023. Find out in detail how your customer experience will be enhanced on your next flight or visit to the airline’s airport lounge.

Meal service

International Economy Class

Starting in November, the international economy class meal service will be enhanced with a hot main dish created by Montreal celebrity chef Jérôme Ferrer. An appetizer typical of the destination of the flight will be added, and a dessert will also be included.

This new menu will be applied to all international flights departing from Canada.

North America Economy class

For flights within North America and to sun destinations, there will also be new items such as smoked salmon sandwiches, vegan options such as farro salad and spicy chickpea wrap, as well as other typical Canadian snacks. All of these items will be part of the Air Canada Bistro options. Don’t worry, Montreal smoked meat sandwiches will still be available!

Services to Premium Cabin

Beginning November 1, full premium cabin service will return, including coat check service, hot towels before meals and pre-departure beverages for international flights.

Air Canada is also opting for more environmentally friendly Acqua di Parma toiletry kits for all international flights. These kits include the following:

  • Acqua di Parma skin care products
  • Eye Mask
  • Socks
  • Dental hygiene products
  • 3M Earplugs

Air Canada Premium Economy (international) and Signature (North America) customers will receive an eye mask, socks and dental hygiene products.

Wi-Fi and in-flight entertainment

Starting in November, Premium Rouge customers will now be able to enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi during their flight.

By 2023, in terms of entertainment, there will be 25% more content, including the addition of live TV. It will also be possible to connect audio with Bluetooth, an interesting addition since less and less people use wired headphones nowadays.

These changes will be effective on all 39 Air Canada Rouge aircraft, Air Canada wide-body aircraft and 90% of the mainline fleet.

Airport lounges

Maple Leaf lounges in North America will expand their menu to include a selection of six wines, one sparkling and one rosé, with an emphasis on Canadian wines. As for the buffet, there will be a greater variety of salads and international specialties, in addition to the local classics (poutine, Montreal smoked meat sandwiches and the famous Fairmount bagels).

In addition, Super Elite and Business Class customers will enjoy privileged lounge access during peak hours in select Maple Leaf lounges.
