146,000 TD Rewards points are worth a value of $730 for travel booked through Expedia for TD:
- Flights
- Hotels
- Rental Cars
- Vacation packages
To use your TD Rewards points, simply log in to expediafortd.com. Your points balance will be displayed at the top, along with the corresponding dollar value.
Find out how Expedia for TD works.

I use my TD Rewards points to book car rentals, especially when I travel to France or the United States.
In fact, by using TD Rewards Points, I am covered by the insurance provided by my TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card, which saves me from having to purchase the rental company’s insurance (between $20 and $30 per day), except for Liability Insurance.

Other Travel Rewards
146,000 TD Rewards points are worth a value of $584 for other travel rewards via the « Book Your Way » option:
You can use your TD Rewards points at a rate of 250 points = $1 for the first $1,200 of any travel purchase using the Book Any Way option.
Then, the portion exceeding $1,200 for the same travel purchase Book Any Way, 200 points = $1.
This is particularly useful for booking holiday rentals on Airbnb for example.

Other Rewards
Finally, you can use your TD Rewards points on:
- Amazon.ca
- Articles
- Gift cards
- Education
However, the value obtained will be much less than for the travel rewards mentioned above (with the exception of the education credit option).

How to earn the 146,000 points
The bonus unlocks in only two steps, which makes it simpler than most competing offers:
| Step | Requirement | Deadline | TD Rewards points |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | First purchase | – | 20,000 |
| 2 | $7,500 in purchases | 180 days | 126,000 |
| Total | $7,500 | 180 days | 146,000 |
The $7,500 over 180 days works out to about $1,250 a month. The anniversary bonus is added separately: it is worth 10% of the points earned that year, up to a maximum of 10,000 points.
Potential earnings in year one
Here is a $1,250 per month profile, the exact pace that unlocks the bonus, with 74% of spending in the 6x and 8x categories:
| Category | Rate | Annual spending | Points earned |
|---|---|---|---|
| Groceries | 6 points/$ | $6,000 | 36,000 |
| Restaurants | 6 points/$ | $3,000 | 18,000 |
| Expedia for TD bookings | 8 points/$ | $1,200 | 9,600 |
| Public transit | 6 points/$ | $900 | 5,400 |
| Recurring bills and streaming | 4 points/$ | $1,800 | 7,200 |
| All other purchases | 2 points/$ | $2,100 | 4,200 |
| Total | – | $15,000 | 80,400 |
Those 80,400 points also trigger the anniversary bonus, worth 10% of the total. Here is the full first-year picture, at 0.5 cents per point:
| Point source | Points | Travel value |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome bonus | 146,000 | $730 |
| Earned on $15,000 of purchases (mix above) | 80,400 | $402 |
| Anniversary bonus (10% of points earned) | 8,040 | $40 |
| Total in the first year | 234,440 | $1,172 |
And since the $139 annual fee is rebated in the first year, that amount stays intact. The $100 travel credit and the 4 airport lounge visits come on top.

Dragon Pass offers access to over 1,200 VIP lounges worldwide, including:

TD Rewards Birthday Bonus
Each year, your TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite* Account will receive a TD Rewards Birthday Bonus equal to 10% of the total number of TD Rewards points earned in the 12 months preceding the Primary Cardholder’s anniversary date, up to a maximum bonus of 10,000 TD Rewards points.

The TD Rewards Birthday Bonus is worth up to 10,000 TD Rewards points ($50). To get the maximum bonus, you will need to earn 100,000 TD Rewards points through your purchases.
For example, if you make $1,000 in monthly grocery purchases (72,000 points per year), $200 in monthly restaurant purchases (14,400 points per year) and $300 in monthly pre-authorized purchases (14,400 points), you’ll reach 100,800 points.
$100 TD Annual Travel Credit
You will receive a TD travel credit of $100 on the first eligible travel purchase charged to the account during a given calendar year.
An eligible travel credit purchase includes:
- the purchase of a stay at a hotel, motel, tourist accommodation or vacation rental of CAD 500 or more through Expedia for TD; or
- the purchase of a vacation package of CAD 500 or more from Expedia for TD, which includes hotel, motel, tourist accommodation or vacation rental and transportation.

This $100 TD Travel Credit is more restrictive than other credit cards. Indeed, it will require:
- to use Expedia For TD services
- book accommodation for $500 or more
This does not apply to other types of travel such as flights or car rentals.
However, this $100 TD Travel Credit operates on a calendar-year basis, so if you get the TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card in 2025, you can use this $100 TD Travel Credit between January 1 and December 31, 2025. And you’ll have a new $100 TD Travel Credit available on January 1, 2026.
So a TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Cardholder has even more to gain from knowing how Expedia for TD works. Not only can you earn 8 points per dollar (or 4%) for travel, but you can also use this new $100 TD Travel Credit.

TD First Class Travel – Our review
We have followed the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card across several TD Rewards overhauls, and we test it with our own bookings.
Its strength is the 6 points per dollar rate on groceries, restaurants and public transit. At 0.5 cents per point, that returns 3%, which is solid for a Visa Infinite.
Its limit comes down to the currency itself. TD Rewards points transfer nowhere and are worth 0.5 cents whether you go through Expedia for TD or the Book How You Like feature. There is therefore no way to do better through a clever redemption.
In practice, this card suits anyone who wants simplicity. You earn, you book, you pay less. Nobody will pull off a business class coup with these points.
Who is this card for?
- Spending of around $1,250 a month: that is exactly the pace that unlocks the 126,000 points within 180 days.
- Anyone who wants simplicity: nothing to optimize, the point is always worth 0.5 cents.
- Expedia customers: 8 points per dollar on bookings, plus the $100 travel credit from $500 booked.
- Anyone who wants a risk-free trial: the $139 annual fee is rebated in the first year.
- Transfer fans: TD Rewards points transfer to no airline or hotel program.
- Anyone comparing in points: at 0.5 cents, you need twice as many TD Rewards points as Scene+ points for the same value.
- Anyone booking outside Expedia: Book How You Like gives the same rate, but forfeits the annual travel credit.
- Irregular spenders: missing the $7,500 within 180 days costs 126,000 points, essentially the whole bonus.
How we assess this offer
Our calculations rest on three constant rules. First, we value TD Rewards points at 0.5 cents, the rate that applies both on Expedia for TD and through statement credits. Second, we count only the benefits actually received during the first year. Finally, we always weigh point value against the real annual fee.
The earnings table assumes a specific profile: $15,000 in annual spending, or $1,250 a month, with 74% in the 6x and 8x categories. If your breakdown differs, adjust the rows to your own amounts.
The offer terms come from TD. Our analysis remains independent of the commercial agreements we hold with card issuers.

Frequently Asked Questions about the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card
Here are frequently asked questions in the milesopedia community about this card.
How to unlock the full 146,000 TD points bonus?
The welcome bonus for the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite® Card is broken down into three steps:
- 20,000 points for your first purchase
- 126,000 points after $7,500 in purchases within 180 days
- Up to 10,000 anniversary points, equal to 10% of the points earned that year (capped at 10,000)
Total: 146,000 TD Points, worth approximately $730 in travel via Expedia for TD. The threshold of $7,500 in 180 days is equivalent to approximately $1,250 per month, normally achievable with regular spending on groceries, restaurants, and public transit.
Are the annual fees truly waived for the first year?
Yes. The annual fee of $139 is fully waived for the first year for the primary cardholder, allowing you to test the card without initial commitment. Starting from year 2, you must compare the $139 to the $100 annual TD travel credit activated on Expedia for TD for bookings of $500 or more, bringing the net fee down to $39 per year.
Add the 4 complimentary lounge visits through the Visa Airport Companion program (a value of up to $277) and the card easily pays for itself with one or two trips per year.
How does the 6 points per dollar rate compare to other travel cards?
The First Class Travel card offers 6 points per dollar on groceries, at restaurants, and for public transit, and 4 points per dollar on pre-authorized payments and streaming services. With each TD Rewards point worth 0.5 cents on Expedia for TD travel:
- Rendement de 3 % à l’épicerie, au restaurant et en transport en commun
- Rendement de 2 % sur les factures et le streaming
- Rendement de 1 % sur tous les autres achats
This is competitive with the American Express Cobalt Card (5x on dining and groceries), but American Express points can be transferred to airline programs, which is not the case for TD Rewards points, which are limited to the Expedia for TD portal.
Can I redeem my TD points for any travel or only through Expedia?
You have two options: Expedia for TD at the standard rate of 0.5 cents per point, or the Book Your Way feature, which allows you to pay for any travel purchase with your card and then redeem your points against the statement, also at 0.5 cents per point.
The Expedia option is generally more advantageous as it provides access to the $100 annual TD travel credit on bookings of $500 or more. Book Your Way is better suited for atypical bookings (boutique hotels, Airbnb, train tickets) where Expedia’s inventory is limited.
