This welcome offer is divided into three parts.
First, you’ll earn 20,000 Aeroplan points for the first purchase you make with your TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Credit Card. This is the fastest part of the offer: the 20,000 Aeroplan points will be credited to your Aeroplan account after your first statement, on which your first purchase will appear, is issued.

The full 85,000 Aeroplan points bonus (approximately $1,700 in travel value according to Milesopedia) is earned in three stages: 20,000 points after the first purchase, 35,000 points after $12,000 in spending within the first 180 days, and 30,000 points after $24,000 in spending over 12 months (credited upon renewal in the second year). The cumulative threshold of $36,000 in the first year requires intensive card usage, but for business travelers or high-spending households, it is entirely achievable.
Is the $150,000 income requirement truly mandatory?
Yes. The TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card requires a personal income of $150,000 or a household income of $200,000. This is the standard for all Visa Infinite Privilege cards in Canada and is non-negotiable. For Aeroplan travelers who do not qualify, the American Express Aeroplan Reserve offers the same 85,000-point welcome bonus with comparable benefits (luxury hotel collection, Maple Leaf lounges), at the same $599 annual fee, with no minimum income requirement.
How does the free baggage for 8 passengers work?
The primary cardholder and up to 8 travelers on the same Air Canada reservation receive the first checked bag free (up to $70 per person per segment). On a family trip of 4 people with 2 connections, the savings can reach $560 round-trip, nearly covering the entire annual card fee.
