Discover step-by-step how to transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to other loyalty programs.
First, you’ll need to log in to your American Express online account.
Click on “View and Redeem Points“.
You will then be taken to the Membership Rewards program page.
If you have multiple cards linked to the same American Express online account, make sure the correct Membership Rewards account is selected.
If applicable, click on”Switch Account” and choose the account from which you want to transfer.
Then, in the Use Points section, choose Transfer Points.
Then, you will see first the airline partners and then at the bottom of the page the hotel partners:

You have two options:
This is the option we prefer because you have control over the account opening. You will immediately know your loyalty number and password.
You will need to add your existing account number to the transfer.
We much prefer option A: by letting American Express open an account for you with the loyalty program, you’ll often have to wait a few days.

To view a list of your Membership Rewards transfers, go to “Your Points Account” and click on “My Rewards”.

Transferring American Express Membership Rewards points to partner programs such as Aeroplan, Flying Blue or Marriott Bonvoy is one of the best strategies for optimizing your rewards.
You can convert your Membership Rewards points into airline tickets, hotel stays or other rewards programs not available in Canada.
