BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard – Earn VIPorter Points
In everyday life, the BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard earns VIPorter points in this way:
- 9 to 10 points per dollar eligible spent on Porter flights;
- 2 points per dollar eligible on transit, gas, groceries, restaurants, and hotels;
- 1 point per dollar eligible on all other purchases.
Next, the spending cap for 2 points per dollar on gas, hotels and transportation is $5,000 per year, from January to December. Starting at $5,001, you earn 1 VIPorter point per dollar.
The spending cap for 2 points per dollar at restaurants and grocery stores is $10,000 per year, from January to December. Starting at $10,001, you earn 1 VIPorter point per dollar.
BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard – Benefits
In addition, the BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard offers you other benefits worth up to $1,228 to make your flights on Porter’s wings even more enjoyable:
- Annual fee fully rebated in the first year ($199 value)

To be eligible for the BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard, you need a personal annual income of $80,000 or more, or a household annual income of at least $150,000. If that’s not your case, go for the other version, the BMO VIPorter Mastercard.
With the BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard, you automatically receive VIPorter Horizon status. It begins approximately 2 days after your card application is approved, and is valid for as long as you hold the credit card. For example, if you apply for the card today, you’ll retain this status until at least December 31, 2026.
With the VIPorter Venture Elite Status, the primary AND additional BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard credit cardholders receive the following benefits:

How do I earn VIPorter points with a BMO VIPorter credit card?
Here are the BMO VIPorter Mastercard credit cards earning rates:
- BMO VIPorter Mastercard: 2 points/$ with Porter, 1 point/$ on transportation, gas, groceries, restaurants and hotels (with caps), 0.5 point/$ on other purchases.
- BMO VIPorter World Elite Mastercard: 3 points/$ with Porter, 2 points/$ in the same categories (with higher caps), 1 point/$ on other purchases.
In both cases, annual limits apply, beyond which the rate drops to 0.5 points or 1 point depending on the BMO VIPorter credit card.
Do VIPorter points expire with these cards?
No. If you’re a BMO VIPorter Mastercard credit cardholder (regular or World Elite), your VIPorter points never expire. This is a significant advantage, especially if you’re earning points over the long term for future travel.
Can VIPorter points be used for anything other than Porter flights?
Yes. In addition to Porter flights, VIPorter points can be redeemed for flights with Air Transat and Alaska Airlines. This dramatically expands the possibilities for using points beyond the Porter network.
