Frequently Asked Questions about the moi RBC Visa Credit Card
Here are frequently asked questions in the milesopedia community about this card.
What is the welcome bonus for the moi RBC Visa Credit Card?
The current offer on the moi RBC Visa Credit Card† totals up to 5,000 Moi points:
- 3,000 Moi points on your first purchase
- 2,000 additional Moi points after spending at least $500 within the first 3 months
At an exchange ratio of 500 points = $4 at Metro and other Moi partners, the bonus represents a value of approximately $40 in grocery rewards. This is moderate for a no-fee card, but combined with continuous multipliers, the accumulation becomes attractive for loyal Metro customers.
How do the moi RBC Visa Credit Card multipliers work?
The moi RBC Visa Credit Card† offers targeted multipliers within the Metro inc. ecosystem:
- 2 points per dollar at Metro, Première Moisson, Brunet, and Jean Coutu (when you also present the Moi card)
- 2 points per dollar at restaurants, gas stations, and for electric vehicle charging
- 1 point per dollar on all other purchases
The main advantage lies in the combination with the Metro Moi card: when you present both cards together, you accumulate points on the same purchases, effectively doubling the accumulation.
Is the moi RBC Visa Credit Card linked to the RBC Avion program?
No. The moi RBC Visa Credit Card† is not an RBC Avion program card. It works exclusively with the Metro inc. Moi program, launched in May 2023. Accumulated Moi points cannot be transferred to Avion, Aeroplan, or WestJet. Points are only redeemable for discounts at Moi partners: Metro (grocery), Brunet, Jean Coutu (health), and Première Moisson. For travelers seeking convertible points, the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege Card is more appropriate.
Who is the moi RBC Visa Credit Card for?
The moi RBC Visa Credit Card† is particularly suitable for the following profiles:
- Families who regularly buy their groceries at Metro (or Super C and Adonis, which accept Moi)
- Loyal customers of Brunet, Jean Coutu, and Première Moisson
- Those wanting a first credit card or a no-annual-fee addition to an existing wallet
It is less suitable for those who shop at Loblaws, IGA, or Costco, or who seek to accumulate points convertible into travel. The American Express Cobalt Card remains more effective for the general food category.
