What exactly is "Resorts World"?

Resorts World Las Vegas harmoniously blends the technology and luxurious charm of a contemporary urban resort with the traditions and details inherited from the international Resorts World brand. When it opened in 2021, it was to be the first integrated complex built on the Las Vegas Strip in over a decade. Resorts World Las Vegas offers 3,506 rooms and suites in three different hotels, an extensive casino, over 40 world-class dining options, a 5,000-persons-capacity theater, distinctive nightlife venues, an extensive collection of boutiques featuring a wide range of internationally renowned brands, and much more.

The room described in this text is part of the Conrad hotel, but please note that all the services offered in the Resorts World complex are available to all guests staying at any of the three hotels.

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World – Location

Located at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, Conrad Las Vegas Hotel at Resorts World is ideally situated opposite the 1.4 million sq. ft. expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center, as well as the Fashion Show Mall, a 250-store, 2 million sq. ft. shopping center.

The distance between the airport and Resorts World Las Vegas is approximately 5.6 kilometers.

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World – Lobby and common areas

First impression as you enter the hotel lobby: it’s big, there’s lots of space, the ceilings are high, and not only can you not see the casino, you can’t even hear it… And that’s pretty rare in Las Vegas.

The second striking impression, as soon as you start wandering around the Resorts World complex, is that you don’t get lost. Indeed, the majority of Las Vegas casinos are renowned for their labyrinthine design, deliberately aimed at disorienting customers so that they lose track of time, struggle to find the exits and spend an extended amount of time playing within the casino.

In contrast, Resorts World stands out from this norm with a meticulously planned layout featuring clean lines and clear design, offering visitors a refreshingly easy-to-navigate space.

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World – The room

Our room is a spacious suite measuring approximately 550 square feet, with extremely high ceilings and large windows spanning the entire height of the space. Apart from being on one of the hotel’s upper floors, this is an entry-level room for the Conrad.

You might expect to pay quite a lot for this room, but if you consult the price calendar on the hilton.com website, the cheapest rate for this room is around 110-120 USD per night, for specific dates in December and January. If there’s one destination where hotel rates vary enormously by date, it’s Las Vegas. So, to get a good rate, you need to be flexible in your choice of dates. As with most Las Vegas hotels, don’t forget to add the mandatory resort fee to the rate.

The resort fee is 45 USD per night for any of the three hotels at Resorts World.

From the room we have a view of the Strip stretching southwards. A breathtaking view you’ll never get tired of.

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World – The casino

I’m not a gambler, so I can’t comment on or compare the casino’s gaming offering, but from a more general point of view, it’s clearly one of the most modern casinos in Las Vegas and one of the largest, as its surface area exceeds that of two soccer fields. Away from the main gaming floor, a few VIP gaming rooms are also available.

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World – Famous Foods Street Eats

A food fair with an Asian theme, that’s what« Famous Foods Street Eats » is all about. It’s right next to the casino, and you’ll find almost twenty small restaurants to eat at.

To order, there are kiosks scattered all around the food fair. You can combine several dishes from different restaurants on a single order, so you don’t have to queue at each place.

I’d like to draw your attention to the little restaurant called » Fugu Cha Chaan Teng « . Behind one of the shelves on the back wall of the restaurant is the secret entrance to a speakeasy. All you have to do to get in is ask!

An unusual detail at this food fair: take a detour through the toilets and you’ll feel more like you’re in a nightclub.

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World – The District

Spanning some 70,000 square feet, the area known as « The District » features a host of boutiques, restaurants, bars, lounges and even some unusual works of art, such as a Volkswagen Beetle transformed into a ball.

At the heart of « The District » is a special feature: a 50-foot-diameter sphere whose surface is covered with LED lights that create a video screen. Video shows run daily from midday to 1 a.m., with a new visual presentation every hour. In a way, it’s a miniature version of the other sphere in Las Vegas.

Right next to this sphere, you’ll find the entrance to one of the underground stations of the transportation system known as the « Vegas Loop ». From this station, you can hop aboard Tesla cars for a quick tunnel transfer to the Las Vegas Convention Center. For the moment, Resorts World is the only hotel with a station connected to the Las Vegas Convention Center. The tunnel system is currently under construction, and several hotels will be connected to it within the next few years.

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World – "Allé Lounge on 66"

The best way to end the day at Resorts World is with a visit to the Allé Lounge on 66 , located at the top of the Resorts World Las Vegas complex. Indeed, when the elevator door opens onto the 66th floor, and as soon as you enter the lounge, it’s the breathtaking panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip that are fascinating. For great evening shots and to avoid reflections in the windows, step out onto the small outdoor terrace, where guests can enjoy the glittering panorama of the city while sipping cocktails and gourmet food.

Bottom Line

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World is located at the northern end of the Strip, and at first glance this location may seem a little disconnected from the rest of the Strip, but with the very recent opening of the Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel in the same area, the northern part of the Strip is undergoing a metamorphosis and becoming a very exclusive hub.

Some might particularly criticize the area known as « The District » for its mall-like appearance, creating a slight break with the much more ubiquitous luxury of the rest of the complex. However, in the evening, when the elegant, well-dressed crowd gathers and takes over the premises, this impression fades.

In Las Vegas, among 5-star hotels, Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World offers the ultimate in value for money. Probably an equivalent establishment offering the same kind of product, but in a different market and context, could justify much higher rates. In my opinion, the establishment stands out for its exceptional service, characterized by an originality rarely matched by its competitors.

The 5X categories and where they apply

The 5X rate is the reason most people carry this card. In Canada it covers four kinds of merchants:

  • Groceries: Metro, IGA, Sobeys, Super C, Safeway, Whole Foods.
  • Restaurants and bars: sit-down meals, takeout and drinks.
  • Home food delivery.
  • Convenience stores: Couche-Tard, 7-Eleven.

The 2X rate covers gas stations such as Esso, Shell and Petro-Canada, along with public transit and ride sharing.

With the American Express Cobalt® Card, you earn between 1 and 5 points per dollar:

That works out to a 1 to 5% return on those purchases. For example, if you spend $1,000 per month across groceries, restaurants and food delivery, you earn $50 back per month, or $600 per year from that category alone. Transfer the points to a program such as Aeroplan instead and the return can be higher.

American Express Cobalt® Card insurance coverage

The card comes with a broad insurance package. The amounts below are the coverage limits; conditions, age limits and exclusions are set out in the certificate of insurance linked in the Insurance section above.

Travel insurance

  • Emergency medical: up to $5,000,000 for the first 15 days of a trip.
  • Travel accident: accidental death and dismemberment of up to $250,000 for you, your spouse and dependent children under age 23 when travelling on a common carrier (plane, train, bus or ship) and the tickets are charged to your card. Supplementary cardholders and their families are covered too.
  • Flight delay: up to $500 for necessary hotel, meal and sundry expenses bought within 48 hours when you are delayed or denied boarding for four hours or more and no other transportation is available. This $500 is an aggregate limit per occurrence, shared with missed connection and delayed baggage coverage.
  • Delayed baggage: up to $500 for essential clothing and sundries bought within four days when your outbound luggage is delayed six hours or more. This $500 is an aggregate limit per occurrence, shared with missed connection and flight delay coverage.
  • Lost or stolen baggage: up to $500 per occurrence for all insured persons combined, for checked or carry-on baggage and personal effects in transit, when the airline tickets are charged to your card. Within that limit, jewellery is capped at $300 per occurrence and golf clubs, including golf bags, at $250 per occurrence.
  • Hotel and motel burglary: up to $500 against the loss of most personal items if your hotel or motel is burglarized, when the stay is charged to your card.

Rental car insurance

Theft and damage coverage is included for a rental car with an MSRP, for its model year, of up to $85,000 excluding all taxes, for rentals of up to 48 days. To use it, decline the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) or any similar option from the rental company and charge the full rental to your card. There is no cost for this coverage, and it replaces the daily insurance the rental company charges, usually $16 to $23 per day.

Mobile device insurance

Your device is covered for up to $1,000 per occurrence when it is charged to the card, for up to two years from the date of purchase. The payout is based on the depreciated value of the device, which falls by 2% of the purchase price for every completed month, less a 10% deductible. Theft and accidental damage coverage starts on the 91st day after purchase, because the first 90 days are covered by purchase protection.

Purchase protection and extended warranty

Eligible items charged to your card are insured against accidental physical damage or theft for 90 days from the purchase date, up to $1,000 per occurrence for all items combined. The card also extends the original manufacturer’s warranty by up to one additional year on eligible items, with indemnification limited to $10,000 per insured item and $25,000 per Cardmember per policy year for all items combined.

  • Card fee: $15.99 per month, which equals $191.88 per year, for residents outside Quebec. Quebec residents are billed $191.88 per year.
  • Additional cards: $0.
  • Purchase interest rate: 21.99%.
