To the point Here is my review of the Hilton Mexico City Airport Hotel, located in Terminal 1 of the Mexico City International Airport.

Hilton Mexico City Airport Hotel - Reservation

The Hilton Mexico City Airport Hotel has cash rates and rates for paying for the room with approximately 50,000 points.

I paid cash, in order to take advantage of the Double Up & Explore promotion until April 23, 2023, to get double points on each stay.

Earn Hilton Honors points

The best way in Canada to earn Hilton Honors points for free stays at thousands of hotels worldwide is through the American Express Membership Rewards program.

And by being a holder of the Platinum Card®, you earn Hilton Honors Gold status (giving you free breakfasts at all Hilton Honors hotels)!

Alternatively, if you have the option to sign up for U.S. credit cards, you could get a Hilton Honors credit card like the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card.

Hilton Mexico City Airport - Where is it located in the airport?

The Hilton Mexico City Airport Hotel is located in Terminal 1 of the Mexico City International Airport (sometimes called Benito Juárez). This is one of the few hotels accessible within the airport, so you don’t have to go outside, everything is done on foot.

However, since it is not indicated, you should know that the escalator leading to the hotel is located near gate 8, under the sign indicating the boarding gates F1-F3 G/J.

Hilton Mexico City Airport - Terminal 1

I was surprised to find that the hotel offers very few food services other than the restaurant. There are no vending machines, no counters for drinks, snacks or travel items, and no ice machines.

So I had to go back to the airport terminal to buy bottled water, juice and chips. Tip: stop at one of the many convenience stores in the terminal before heading to the hotel!

Hilton Mexico City Airport - Check-in

To get to the hotel reception, you will need to take the stairs to the elevator and then the glass elevator.

The elevator doors open onto a huge lobby adjacent to the hotel’s only restaurant. On your right, in front of the restaurant, a jar of flavored water awaits you to quench your thirst.

The lobby has many coffee tables and armchairs where you can enjoy a drink or coffee while watching the planes take off and land. If you feel like providing the musical atmosphere, a beautiful grand piano is located in the center of the lobby.

The staff at the front desk, as well as the concierges, speak both Spanish and English. They will show you the amounts of your bill in Mexican pesos, but can convert them into American money if you ask.

Hilton Mexico City Airport - Room

You can feel that the whole hotel is somewhat dated and the rooms are no exception. The room has a very comfortable size. The air in the room is a bit stale when the air conditioning is turned off. Since the windows do not open, the air cannot circulate, which gives the room a “musty” smell. However, once the air conditioning is activated, the smell disperses a bit.

In my personal opinion, the decoration is a little dated, but the furniture, sheets and comforter are in very good condition and very clean.

Not very sexy, the view from my room is of the inside of the terminal. One would think that the rooms of an airport hotel are well soundproofed…

Actually, yes, the windows are, but the walls seem to be made of cardboard, which gives you a good idea of your room mate’s music selection and the time he set his alarm clock! Let’s just say that the sleep was not the most restful.

** Please note that the hotel is currently under renovation until October 2023. So my room was not renovated. It will be possible for you to request a renovated room during your stay.

The room is equipped with an armchair, a desk area with appropriate chair and a television. Small bottles of water and everything needed to make tea or coffee are offered.

The bathroom is very functional and the classic products of personal hygiene are offered.

Hilton Mexico City Airport - Food

Room service is available 24 hours a day and offers a variety of Mexican and international dishes. To order, you have to scan the QR code found on a small box. The menu is the same as that of the restaurant located in the lobby.

In addition to the breakfast options available through room service, a breakfast buffet (serving hot and cold items) is available for US$25.

Please note that in Terminal 1, there is a wide range of restaurants, bars and cafés to suit all tastes and budgets. If the hotel’s restaurant menu doesn’t suit you, you’ll certainly be able to find something in the terminal, whether you’re in the mood for fine dining or fast food! All restaurants offer take-out meals.

The prices indicated on the restaurant menu are in Mexican pesos.

Hilton Mexico City Airport - Fitness Room

The gym is open 24 hours a day and has basic equipment for strength training and cardio.

Hilton Mexico City Airport - My Overall Impression

Personally, unless I have a renovated room, I will not repeat the experience in this hotel that offers so little. Having stayed at the Camino Real Hotel at the same airport, I can say that there are better options for less money.

The housekeeping staff is pleasant, smiling and very friendly. On the other hand, the people at the front desk, when I visited, seemed completely exhausted. It must be said that the hotel was at full capacity and that there is an impressive turnover of guests.
