Review: Grand Hotel Beauvau Marseille Vieux-Port | ALL Accor
- Cultural

The Grand Hotel Beauvau Marseille Vieux-Port is one of the best-located hotels in Marseille: opened in 1816, this MGallery hotel from the Accor group sits right on the Old Port. You sleep in a room full of historic character, steps from the metro, and you can pay for your stay with your ALL Accor points.
The gateway to Provence and France's second-largest city, Marseille is a feast for the eyes. Between the Old Port, lively neighbourhoods like Le Panier and the silhouette of Notre-Dame de la Garde watching over the sea, the city is bursting with energy. It is best explored on foot or by bike, to the rhythm of its markets, terraces and Mediterranean light.
My stay at the Grand Hotel Beauvau, right on the quays facing the boats and at the foot of La Canebière, was the perfect starting point to experience Marseille from the inside. Here is what you can expect, from the room and breakfast to the points.
The price of a night at the Grand Hotel Beauvau depends on the season and the room you choose:
We recommend booking as an ALL Accor member: the hotel advertises up to 10% off for its members, and joining the program is free.
From Canada, note that Air Transat now offers year-round flights between Montreal and Marseille. In summer 2026, Air Transat flew non-stop between Quebec City and Marseille, once a week.
Located at 4 rue Beauvau, at the foot of La Canebière and on the front row of the Old Port, the hotel enjoys an exceptional location. The Vieux-Port metro station is less than a minute's walk away.
Here is how to get there:
Staying at the Grand Hotel Beauvau puts you a few minutes' walk from Le Panier, the Marseille Opera, the Mucem and the boats to the Calanques or the Château d'If.
As soon as you step into the small but charming lobby, the atmosphere recalls the literary and artistic history of the place: George Sand and Frédéric Chopin stayed here in 1839. In a few steps, you leave the bustle of Marseille's streets for a warm cocoon with soft lighting.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and courteous. Check-in at the front desk is quick, and a small elevator takes you to the upper floors.
Rooms at the Grand Hotel Beauvau blend classic period furniture with very modern amenities. You will quickly notice the ceiling fan with large rattan blades, and the metal toggle switches that recall a ship's controls.
My superior room with a queen bed, a corner unit on the 3rd floor, had everything I needed:
The bathroom features L'Occitane toiletries, a regular shower head and a rain shower head, a hair dryer, a full-length mirror, bathrobes and slippers. Since I was in a corner room, the toilet and the bathroom were in two separate rooms, at opposite ends of the room.
Large windows offer a lively, bright view of rue Beauvau and its shops, and a side view of La Canebière. If a port view matters to you, book a deluxe room instead, which faces the Old Port.
The Grand Hotel Beauvau breakfast buffet is served in a room overlooking the Old Port and its morning bustle. The buffet puts Provençal specialties front and centre:
You can also have breakfast served in your room.

The Bar Beauvau, where breakfast is also served, is simply stunning. It is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring, especially since the hotel has no restaurant for dinner.
You can enjoy a cocktail, a mocktail or a glass of wine at sunset, watching the comings and goings of the port.

The hotel focuses on the essentials rather than leisure facilities. Here is what you will find:
The Grand Hotel Beauvau also holds the Green Key environmental certification.
The location is unbeatable for exploring Marseille on foot from the Old Port:
You are also next to the metro entrance and to many bike and e-scooter sharing stations. To plan your itinerary, see our guide on what to do in Marseille in 3 days.
I fell in love with my corner room on the 3rd floor. It invited rest after a long day in the city, with welcoming, original decor that keeps the building's historic character. I loved the L'Occitane products, which left a soft Provençal scent in the room after every shower.
Breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone. I had a soft spot for the tables for two by the windows, which look out on the port's morning activity. In the evening, the same space welcomed me for a last drink: its calm contrasts with the busy street, and it feels wonderful.
Keep one drawback in mind: staying in the middle of the action also means staying steps from Marseille's lively streets. Despite good double glazing, the street and terraces make the area fairly noisy, day and night. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs.
The Grand Hotel Beauvau is part of the MGallery collection, and therefore of the ALL Accor Live Limitless program. Every 2,000 Reward points are worth €40 off your stay.

The Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite +* Card charges none, and it gives you airport lounge access. We recommend it for paying the hotel and your spending in Marseille.
The Grand Hotel Beauvau is an excellent choice for a first stay in Marseille. You stay within walking distance of everything, in a hotel steeped in history, with one of the most pleasant bars on the Old Port.
