Hilton Honors Points: How Much They're Worth and How to Use Them

A Hilton Honors point is worth 0.5¢ on average, but its real value ranges from 0.3¢ to 0.9¢ depending on the hotel you book. For the night of November 20, 2026, your points were worth about 0.4¢ at Hilton hotels in Montreal, and up to 0.89¢ at a Waldorf Astoria all-inclusive in the Riviera Maya.
Getting the most from your points depends less on your balance than on where you redeem them. The tables below convert 10,000 to 200,000 points into dollars and nights, based on prices shown on hilton.com. If you earn your points with a credit card, our ranking of the best Hilton Honors credit cards will help you choose.
Use 0.5¢ per point to plan, then calculate the real value before you book. We value Hilton Honors points at 0.5¢: that is the benchmark on our Hilton Honors program page. To apply it to your balance, multiply your points by 0.005: 50,000 points are worth about $250.
| Points | Value at 0.5¢ | City hotel (~0.4¢) | Luxury all-inclusive (~0.8¢) | Nights at Spark Montreal (29,000) | Nights at Hampton Montreal (53,000) | Nights at Conrad Tulum (135,000) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $50 | $40 | $80 | None (Points & Money) | None (Points & Money) | None (Points & Money) |
| 20,000 | $100 | $80 | $160 | None (Points & Money) | None (Points & Money) | None (Points & Money) |
| 30,000 | $150 | $120 | $240 | 1 | None (Points & Money) | None (Points & Money) |
| 50,000 | $250 | $200 | $400 | 1 | None (Points & Money) | None (Points & Money) |
| 70,000 | $350 | $280 | $560 | 2 | 1 | None (Points & Money) |
| 100,000 | $500 | $400 | $800 | 3 | 1 | None (Points & Money) |
| 150,000 | $750 | $600 | $1,200 | 5 | 2 | 1 |
| 200,000 | $1,000 | $800 | $1,600 | 6 | 3 | 1 |
This table does not include the fifth night free. With Silver status or higher, 200,000 points get you 7 nights at the Spark Montreal instead of 6, for example.
Here are the prices shown on hilton.com for the night of November 20, 2026, for two adults, alongside the lowest cash rate for the same night, before taxes.
| Hotel | Points per night | Cash rate (before taxes) | Value per point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spark Montreal Midtown | 29,000 | $122 | 0.42¢ |
| Tru Montreal Downtown | 41,000 | $169 | 0.41¢ |
| Hampton Inn Montreal Downtown | 53,000 | $220 | 0.42¢ |
| Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Downtown | 60,000 | $197 | 0.33¢ |
| Vogue Montreal (Curio Collection) | 75,000 | $359 | 0.48¢ |
| Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya (all-inclusive) | 135,000 | $1,059 | 0.78¢ |
| Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya (all-inclusive) | 140,000 | $1,243 | 0.89¢ |
The math is simple: divide the cash rate by the number of points, then multiply by 100. At the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya, $1,243 divided by 140,000 points gives you 0.89¢ per point. The key takeaway is the gap: your points are worth about twice as much at a luxury all-inclusive as at a Canadian city hotel, because the cash price there includes meals and drinks.
Hilton has no fixed award chart: the price of a reward night follows the hotel's rate for your dates. You can book from 5,000 points a night, and the slider on Hilton's Points Explorer tool goes up to 650,000 points. There are no blackout dates, as long as a room is available when you book.
Nights booked entirely with points are also exempt from resort fees, which some resorts add to every night paid in cash.
Under every points price, Hilton shows the reward type. A "Standard Room Reward" is a base room; a "Premium Room Reward" appears when only upgraded rooms are left, at a much higher price.

From Silver status, Hilton gives you the fifth night free on standard room stays booked entirely with points. You don't pay for nights 5, 10, 15 and 20, so up to 4 free nights per stay, with no limit on the number of stays per year.
At the Hampton Inn Montreal Downtown, at 53,000 points a night, 5 nights cost you 212,000 points instead of 265,000. If you don't have status yet, our guide to Hilton Honors status benefits shows you how to get it.
Points & Money lets you pay for a night partly in points and partly in cash, from 5,000 points and in increments of 1,000 points. It comes in handy when your balance isn't enough for a full night.
Still, calculate the value you get: if the cash you save works out to less than 0.4¢ per point used, keep your points for a better redemption. Note too that a Points & Money booking does not qualify for the fifth night free.
You can pool points with up to 11 Hilton Honors members to pay for the same trip. Hilton sets a few rules:
It's the simplest way for a family to put together the 135,000 points for a night at the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya.
Hilton also lets you redeem points for experiences, purchases on Amazon.com, Lyft rides, car rentals with Alamo, National and Enterprise, or miles with partner airlines.
Before you redeem, do the same math as for a night: divide the dollar value you get by the number of points. If the result is under 0.4¢, a night at a city hotel gets you as much, and a luxury all-inclusive about twice as much.
Your points stay valid as long as your account has activity at least once every 24 months. Each of these activities resets the clock:
A transfer of your American Express Membership Rewards points to Hilton Honors is therefore enough to protect your balance.
Hilton regularly offers bonuses on purchased points, and that is the only time buying can pay off. Always compare your cost per point with the value you will get: a point bought under 0.5¢ can pay off at a luxury all-inclusive, rarely at a city hotel.
In Canada, you mostly earn Hilton points by transferring American Express Membership Rewards points. The American Express Cobalt® Card and The Platinum Card® from American Express both earn them, and the latter also gives you Hilton Honors Gold status.
To get the most from your points, redeem them where cash prices are high: all-inclusives, luxury hotels, peak periods. At Canadian city hotels, where a point rarely tops 0.5¢, pay cash when the rate is low and save your points. Aim for at least Silver status for the fifth night free, and pool your family's points for longer stays.
