On June 2, 2026, BMO is officially launching two Blue Rewards credit cards:
These credit cards are arriving at the same time as the launch of the Blue Rewards program. To compare all the options on the market, visit our page on the best credit cards.
The card combines four rates depending on your spending. Additionally, the 10x rate remains capped at $1,000 per billing cycle at partners.
Specifically, a $100 purchase at a participating partner earns 1,000 Blue Points on the card, plus partner points at checkout. Thus, two streams of points are added for the same transaction. Furthermore, if a Blue Rewards partner is also a grocery store or gas station, the 10x rate applies, not the 2x.
At Milesopedia, we have been following BMO programs for over ten years. With the launch of Blue Rewards, BMO is breathing new life into a program that had been stagnating since the acquisition of AIR MILES in 2023.
The new BMO Blue Rewards World Elite Mastercard targets two profiles. First, BMO customers who concentrate their primary banking with the issuer. Second, regular shoppers at partner locations (Pharmasave, Global Pet Foods, Budget, TIMBER MART, Blue Rewards Travel).
The card’s strong selling point remains the 10x accelerator at participating partners, representing a 6.7% return. Combined with the bonus at checkout (presentation of the Blue Rewards membership card), the effective rate increases even further depending on the partner. However, the combined cap of $1,000 per billing cycle limits this gain to targeted purchases.
The $200 NEXUS credit, lounge access via Mastercard Travel Pass, and 15-day travel insurance place the card in the average range of Canadian World Elite cards, without, however, competing with top travel cards like the American Express Cobalt Card or the BMO Ascend World Elite Mastercard for transfers to Aeroplan and Membership Rewards.
This welcome offer comes with the launch of the program, and BMO may modify it without prior notice. For full program details, consult our complete Blue Rewards guide.
The BMO Blue Rewards World Elite Mastercard comes with a welcome offer that justifies applying for BMO customers and regular shoppers at Blue Rewards partners. The combination of 100,000 bonus Blue Points, a NEXUS credit of up to $200, waived annual fees, Mastercard Travel Pass, Instacart credits, and CAA roadside assistance represents $1,600 in total value in the first year. The application must be submitted before October 31, 2026.
If you are looking for a no-fee option to start with the program, the BMO Blue Rewards Mastercard remains accessible with its 20,000 bonus Blue Points. Furthermore, to understand all the intricacies of the Blue Rewards program (conversion rates, partners, AIR MILES transition timeline), consult our complete guide.
