Blue Rewards card-linked offers are one of the many ways that members of the Blue Rewards program (formerly AIR MILES) can earn these valuable rewards. The Blue Rewards program is free to join, and the card offers are a feature available to all members.
The Blue Rewards card-linked offers let you earn bonus points when you link your Canadian-issued Mastercard and/or eligible BMO payment card to the Blue Rewards program and use that same card to make purchases with participating merchants.
In this article, we’ll go over everything you need to know about Blue Rewards card-linked offers, including how to access them and how to maximize the number of points you earn.
Blue Rewards card-linked offers are limited-time promotions that give you bonus points when you make eligible purchases at Blue Rewards’ partnered merchants. The offers are exclusively available to Blue Rewards members who have linked an eligible credit card or BMO payment card. You also typically have to opt in to whichever offer you’d like to use, though conveniently, you can opt in to as many as you’d like at once.
The Blue Rewards card offers primarily give you the chance to earn extra points at the partnered merchants based on how much you spend, or they let you earn a set number of points when you meet a minimum purchase requirement (see image below).
Blue Rewards points have a redemption rate of 1,500 points = $10, so this gives you an idea of the value available through these offers. To learn more about redeeming points, check out our complete guide to the Blue Rewards program.
Joining Blue Rewards (formerly AIR MILES) is both easy and free. To sign up as a new member, simply follow the steps below:
Keep in mind that if you were previously an AIR MILES member, your account will have been automatically transitioned to the Blue Rewards program in June 2026. Any AIR MILES that you had in your account will have also been converted to Blue Rewards points, with no loss of value.
The first step to using Blue Rewards card-linked offers is to link your eligible BMO payment card (e.g., BMO credit card or debit card) or Canadian-issued Mastercard to your Blue Rewards account.
After your card is linked, you can opt in to any of the available Blue Rewards offers and then earn the associated bonus points when you make a purchase with that brand using your linked card.
A few things to keep in mind to help you navigate and maximize the offers:
Also, depending on which type of payment card you’re linking, there are two ways to complete this step: either with an eligible personal or small business BMO credit card/debit card or with a non-BMO Mastercard.
BMO states that card-linked offers are available to Blue Rewards members with Canadian-issued, Canadian dollar BMO-issued personal or small business Mastercard or Visa credit cards, or a BMO-issued personal chequing account debit card.
If you hold an eligible BMO payment card and BMO has your Blue Rewards member number on file, your Blue Rewards account will be automatically linked, so you don’t have to worry about doing this step manually. If BMO doesn’t have your member number already, you can provide it to them by phone or in person at your local branch to link up your card and Blue Rewards account.
Also, for those who’d like to maximize the number of points earned, BMO offers two Blue Rewards co-branded Mastercards:
We’ll share more about how these two cards can provide additional Blue Rewards value in a section below.
If you’d like to link a non-BMO Mastercard, you can easily do so by going to the Blue Rewards app or the Blue Rewards card-linked offers website and providing your eligible Mastercard number along with your Blue Rewards member number.
If you’re looking to maximize the number of Blue Rewards points you earn, there are a few methods worth noting.
Blue Rewards card-linked offers can be earned on top of other program promotions like Flash Offers, Shop the Block, and personalized offers, giving you a chance to double-up on your earning potential.
For example, Blue Rewards’ Shop the Block (you may remember this as AIR MILES’ Shop the Block event) gives you up to $50 back in points when you earn Blue points at select brands. By opting in to both this promotion and an overlapping card-linked offer, you’ll be able to earn through both at the same time!
Another great way to earn more Blue Rewards points is by putting your spending on one of the two Blue Rewards co-branded Mastercards. Both cards offer elevated earning rates for Blue Rewards, a valuable welcome bonus, and additional card perks.
To help you quickly build up your Blue Rewards account balance, the BMO Blue Rewards Mastercard®* earns at the following rates:
Comparatively, the BMO Blue Rewards World Elite®* Mastercard®* earns:
Plus, you earn the card-linked offer bonus points and other Blue Rewards promotional offers on top of these rates!
Each Blue Rewards card-linked offer has its own terms and conditions, and some of the offers let you earn the bonus points multiple times during the bonus period.
In many cases, offers let you earn the bonus points with a “Limit of 1 offer per day per Member Number.” This means that you could, for example, earn 715 bonus points when you spend $100 at Sephora on Day 1 of the promotion, and then return on Day 2 and earn the bonus all over again.
Additionally, you can connect supplementary credit cards to your Blue Rewards number or another Blue Rewards number, letting you enjoy these offers multiple times a day (i.e., “1 per member number”).
Take a look at Blue Rewards’ list of partner merchants and note which brands you like to shop with so that you can be proactive in looking for card offers before your next purchase.
Also, be aware that new partners are added all the time, so check back frequently to see if any more of your favourite merchants have been added.
Blue Rewards card offers are a great way to boost your points account balance and ultimately save on future purchases. Check out our Blue Rewards program guide to learn about how to redeem your points and further maximize your earnings.
