Visa Destinations: your benefits based on your Visa card

Visa Destinations: your benefits based on your Visa card
Share

Visa Destinations is a travel offers platform reserved for Visa cardholders. Any Canadian Visa card lets you browse the catalogue, but the best offers remain reserved for the Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite Privilege tiers. Your card therefore opens more doors than you might think—provided you know where to look.

First, a word about my angle. I have been based in Nice for several months, with my Canadian cards in my wallet. This situation forced me to dig into the question: does a Visa Infinite issued in Canada really give you access to the same benefits as a European card? Yes—and we explain the nuances that matter.

To compare your options, see our page on the best Visa Infinite cards in Canada.

How does Visa Destinations work?

In practical terms, Visa Destinations brings together discounts, priority access, and experiences that Visa negotiates with local merchants in a selection of cities. The principle is simple: you choose a destination, browse the offers, then follow the instructions to redeem it on site.

Visa announced the global launch of the platform on June 25, 2026, with 10 destinations: Paris, London, Dubai, Milan, Rome, Mexico City, New York, Miami, San Francisco, and Thailand. However, the platform currently shows only 9 entries, since Milan and Rome are grouped under “Italy.”

Next, the offers are split into seven categories: dining, entertainment, culture, hotels, wellness, shopping, and transportation. In addition, the selection changes continuously, which explains why an offer spotted one month may disappear the next.

For the fuller picture of everything a Visa Infinite card unlocks beyond this one platform, see our guide to Visa Infinite Benefits.

Which Visa cards provide access?

Access works on two levels. First, all Visa cardholders can browse the platform, regardless of card type or issuing bank. Then, your eligibility for each offer depends on your card tier and the terms specific to that offer.

The base level open to all Visa cards

A good portion of the catalogue is labelled “Eligible Visa cards,” with no tier restriction. In Paris, for example, the tasting menus at David Toutain, Le Taillevent, and L’Astrance fall into this category. Likewise, the Paris Je T’aime City Pass with 10% off is open to everyone.

In other words, even a Visa card with no annual fee gives you access to part of the platform. This is a nuance many cardholders are unaware of.

The premium Visa Infinite tier

However, the most interesting offers carry an explicit tier label. On the listing for skip-the-line access to the Louvre Museum, Visa specifies that the offer is reserved for Visa Infinite, Visa Private, Visa Infinite Business, and Visa Infinite Privilege cardholders.

Now, those last two tiers do exist in Canada. We confirmed this on Visa Canada’s pages, which present Visa Destinations among the benefits of its Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite Privilege cards. Your Canadian card therefore checks the right box.

In practical terms, the TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card, the TD Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card, and the CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite* Card all unlock this premium tier, each with a different points program.

  • Visa Infinite: the most common premium tier in Canada, eligible for nearly all reserved offers.
  • Visa Infinite Privilege: the higher Canadian tier, explicitly named in the terms of premium offers.
  • Visa Infinite Business: your Infinite-tier business cards are included as well.

Here are the top-ranked Visa Infinite cards in our comparison tool. Click on a card’s name to see all the details.

Finally, to clearly distinguish between the two Canadian tiers, read our comparison of Visa Infinite vs. Visa Infinite Privilege benefits.

Toronto is coming to the platform

Here is the part that interests us most: Toronto already appears in the destination list, marked “Coming soon.” The city appears in tenth position, alongside the 9 active destinations.

However, no Toronto offers can be viewed for now, and the city page still does not load any content. Moreover, Visa simply indicates that the platform is gradually expanding to new destinations, without giving a date.

Yet this detail changes the platform’s relevance for us. Until now, Visa Destinations was useful only when travelling; a Toronto entry would also make it a tool you can use at home.

Three quantified offers as examples

Numbers speak louder than descriptions. Here are three offers we found on the platform, along with the required tier for each.

OfferDestinationBenefitRequired tier
Louvre MuseumParisSkip-the-line access for you and up to 3 visitors, one timeVisa Infinite and Infinite Privilege
Top of the RockNew YorkPriority access, plus 20% off starting at $100 in the shopVisa Infinite and Infinite Privilege
Printemps HaussmannParis5% off and tax refund up to 16%All eligible Visa cards

Note, however, that the Louvre skip-the-line access does not replace the admission ticket. You buy your ticket separately through the museum’s ticketing site, then go to the fast entry. Likewise, at Top of the Rock, priority access comes with purchasing the ticket directly.

The GigSky eSIM trap

Here is the confusion I see coming. Indeed, GigSky appears in two distinct places, with different conditions, and the two benefits have nothing to do with each other.

On one hand, on Visa Destinations, an offer gives you free mobile data in France:

  • 7 unlimited days for Visa Infinite cards,
  • 3 days for other eligible Visa cards.

Furthermore, the discount on additional plans follows the same hierarchy: 30% at the Infinite tier and 20% elsewhere.

On the other hand, some of your Canadian cards offer their own GigSky deal, negotiated by the issuer. The Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite +* Card, for example, gives you 10 GB for 15 days, then 1 GB free per year.

Result: these two benefits stack rather than replace each other. So, before paying for a data plan abroad, check both sources.

You will find the details of the bank deal in our article on free GigSky data with the Scotia Visa Infinite+.

How to check your eligibility

First, each offer listing displays its eligibility conditions. Then, to obtain the offer, the platform asks for the 16 digits of your Visa card and sends you an immediate confirmation. Finally, an account created with your name and email address lets you find your redeemed offers.

If the platform refuses an offer, the reason is almost always the tier of the card you entered. A standard Visa will not work for an offer reserved for the Infinite tier, even though you can still browse the catalogue.

Should you rethink your wallet?

Visa Destinations alone is not a reason to apply for a new card. However, it gives you one more reason to keep an Infinite-tier card in your wallet if you travel to these 9 destinations.

The math is straightforward. Take skip-the-line access to the Louvre for four people, a 5% discount at Printemps with a tax refund up to 16%, plus 7 days of unlimited data: on a single trip to Paris, your savings already exceed the annual fees of several Visa Infinite cards.

So our recommendation remains the same as before this launch. Choose your card for its points program, insurance, and foreign exchange fees, then treat Visa Destinations as a bonus to check before every departure.

Visa Destinations – Frequently asked questions

Are my Canadian Visa cards eligible?

Yes. All Visa cardholders can browse the platform, regardless of card type or issuing bank. In addition, Visa Canada presents Visa Destinations among the benefits of its Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite Privilege cards. Then, your eligibility for a specific offer depends on your card tier.

What are the 9 destinations offered?

The platform covers Paris, London, Dubai, Mexico City, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Italy, and Thailand. In addition, Toronto is being added to the list with the “Coming soon” label. At the June 25, 2026 launch, Visa announced 10 destinations, with Milan and Rome since grouped under the “Italy” entry.

Do you need a Visa Infinite card?

Not to browse the catalogue, nor for a good portion of offers marked “Eligible Visa cards.” However, premium offers, such as skip-the-line access to the Louvre or priority access to Top of the Rock, require a Visa Infinite, Visa Private, Visa Infinite Business, or Visa Infinite Privilege tier.

Why do some offers mention Visa Signature?

Visa Signature is a tier used in other markets, not in Canada. Here, Visa offers Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite Privilege instead. In fact, on the Louvre access, the terms specify that only Visa Signature cards issued in China are eligible. So a mention of this tier does not apply to you.

How do I check if I am eligible?

Each offer listing displays its conditions. Then, when obtaining the offer, the platform asks for the 16 digits of your Visa card and immediately confirms your eligibility. However, always make sure you are on Visa’s official website before entering this number.

Does the GigSky eSIM replace the one from my card?

No, the two benefits stack. The platform offer gives you 7 days of unlimited data at the Visa Infinite tier, versus 3 days for other eligible Visa cards. In parallel, the GigSky deal negotiated by your issuer, such as 10 GB over 15 days with the Scotia Visa Infinite+, remains separate.

Does Visa Destinations earn points?

No. The platform gives you discounts, priority access, and experiences—never points. However, you still earn your usual points on purchases paid with your card, according to your program’s multipliers.

When will Toronto offers be available?

No date has been announced. Visa only indicates that the platform is gradually expanding to new destinations, and the Toronto page still does not load any offers. We will track its launch for you.
