Review: Conrad London St. James St. James Hilton Honors

I have been a Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Cardmember for several years. With this card, I have:

• Hilton Honors Diamond status (synonymous with complimentary breakfasts and upgrades at most Hilton Honors hotels)
• US$250 annual credit with airlines like United
• One Annual Free Night Award

With the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself with several free night certificates earned in my Hilton Honors account.

Even though these expire on December 31, 2022, I could extend them for an additional month by calling Hilton Honors customer service.

A short stay in a European capital would allow me to use them to the best possible value!

So I redeemed two free night certificates to stay at the Conrad London St. JamesThe rate was 80,000 points per night (or over CA$500).

A perfect use of these Hilton Honors certificates for a 2-day father-daughter trip to the heart of London!

The Conrad London St James is ideally located in the Westminster district, steps away from the British Parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye.

Arriving in London late in the evening, we were able to check in quickly using the Hilton Honors mobile app. I secured an upgrade to a Junior Suite by chatting with the hotel via chat, enough to delight my daughter upon our arrival.

Our room at Conrad London St. James is therefore a Junior Suite. This is quite a footprint for a city like London.

The room is separated in two by the television cabinet. With a side for the desktop and two armchairs and the other side for the night part.

The bathroom is composed of a large bathtub (which strangely lacked a shower head for rinsing). As well as a shower and a toilet.

This is a very comfortable room with a view of the London skyline. See detailed photos of the room in the gallery below:

You can have breakfast in the hotel restaurant, The Pem or the Executive Lounge (if you have access to it).

Even though it is a buffet breakfast, several dishes are available from the servers. Moreover, the service was remarkable, with a butler speaking perfect French.

Although well equipped, the fitness room of the Conrad London St. James is located in the basement of the hotel without any windows. The lack of outside light is, therefore, a hindrance for me to training.

The hotel’s Executive Lounge is delightful with a certain British charm. Even though we preferred breakfast in the hotel restaurant, you should know that the lounge is adequately supplied in the early morning.

Also, at tea time, you can find a buffet of cold and hot dishes, enough to satisfy you after walking in the city.

Location. Location. Location.

The Conrad London St. James offers a prime location to visit London. From the hotel, you can do almost everything on foot. Big Ben and Westminster Abbey are only a 5-minute walk away.

And from the hotel, you will have easy access to the Subway (St James Park station is across the street). In short, I will not hesitate to stay at this property again when I am in town!

It has been many years since I last stayed in London, and I was not disappointed by my choice to stay at the Conrad London St. James ! This quality hotel ticks all the boxes for a successful father-daughter stay in London!
