Chexy Plus - le nouveau palier payant de Chexy
To the point Chexy Plus, Chexy's new paid tier: pricing, reduced fees, and included perks, detailed in an official announcement.

Chexy, the Canadian platform that lets you pay your rent, bills and taxes by credit card, has spelled out its new paid subscription tier, Chexy Plus, in an article published on June 21, 2026. Two plans are available: a Monthly plan at $20 CAD and an Annual plan at $200 CAD, with only the latter unlocking reduced processing fees.

Both plans include free Rush payments, Credit Builder and early access to new features. Read our complete Chexy guide for a full picture of the platform.

What Chexy’s official pricing reveals

Chexy’s official article, titled “Chexy Plus Membership: what’s included and how much it costs” and published on June 21, 2026, lays out a comparison table across three situations: without Plus, with Plus on the Monthly plan, and with Plus on the Annual plan.

*Exception: anyone who had Credit Builder active before June 19, 2026 keeps free access to it without a Plus subscription, as long as eligibility is maintained (personal access, non-transferable).

Official pricing

According to Chexy’s official article, the Monthly plan costs $20 CAD per month, billed in advance every month, and the Annual plan costs $200 CAD per year, billed in advance once every 12 months. Chexy states that it displays the total amount payable before you sign up.

The membership fee and the per-transaction processing fees are two separate charges that add up: paying for Chexy Plus does not replace the processing fees. It reduces them (on the Annual plan only) or unlocks other benefits (on the Monthly plan).

Rush fees for non-members

For users without a Chexy Plus subscription, Rush payments (expedited processing) remain chargeable, according to the following schedule published by Chexy:

  • 2-day processing: the greater of $2.99 or 0.3% of the payment amount
  • Next-day processing: the greater of $4.99 or 0.5% of the payment amount

These fees are waived with an active Chexy Plus subscription, no matter which plan you choose.

Eligibility, sign-up and cancellation

  • Eligibility: personal accounts only (business accounts and business payments are not eligible), Canadian residents who have reached the age of majority, with a valid payment method on file
  • Sign-up: directly in the Chexy app, under Settings, then Chexy Plus
  • Cancellation: possible at any time; it takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with no prorated refund
  • Renewal: automatic, unless cancelled beforehand
  • Stacking with the referral program: the Chexy Plus fee discount does not stack with Pink, Gold or Elite referral statuses. Only one discount applies, whichever gives the account the better rate

How it compares to referrals

The 1.5% discount offered on the Chexy Plus Annual plan is not a new rate as such: it matches exactly the Pink status of Chexy’s existing referral program, reached after 3 successful referrals. As a reminder, here is the full referral program grid:

  • Pink: 1.5% fee after 3 successful referrals
  • Gold: 1% fee after 5 referrals
  • Elite: 0.5% fee after 10 referrals

Since the two discounts do not stack, a user who has already reached Gold or Elite status through referrals has no financial reason to pay for the Annual plan on the fee criterion alone, because their referral discount is already better. Chexy Plus is aimed instead at users without an advantageous status who prefer a fixed subscription over referrals, or who value the free Rush payments and Credit Builder included from the Monthly plan onward.

Do the math before subscribing

On rent of $1,800 per month, the difference between the standard 1.75% rate and the reduced 1.5% rate on the Annual plan works out to roughly $4.50 in monthly savings, or $54 a year on processing fees alone. That remains lower than the regular $200 price of the Annual subscription, but it becomes more compelling at the $150 promotional price currently displayed, with higher rent, or once you factor in the value of the free Rush payments and the included Credit Builder.

To compare Chexy, Casa, Neobanc and TenantPay and work out what your rent really earns, read our guide: Pay Rent by Credit Card in Canada: 4 Platforms Compared.

For a user who does not plan to use Rush payments or Credit Builder, and whose rent is modest, the Monthly plan at $20 per month ($240 per year) offers no discount on processing fees and costs more than the Annual subscription. It mainly suits those who want to test Credit Builder and free Rush payments without an annual commitment. As a reminder, Chexy currently accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards issued in Canada, at a standard rate of 1.75%.

Conclusion

Chexy Plus is now spelled out in black and white by Chexy itself: two clear plans, a fee discount reserved for the annual commitment, and benefits included from the Monthly plan onward. The math stays personal: it depends on your rent, your current referral status and how much you will use Rush payments and Credit Builder.
