ALL Accor: Amex Membership Rewards Transfers Are Now Live (2:1 Ratio)

A Third Hotel Partner for Amex

The American Express Membership Rewards program had seven transfer partners in Canada since the departure of Etihad Guest last June. With the arrival of ALL Accor Live Limitless, the program moves up to eight partners: five airline programs and three hotel programs.

On the hotel side, ALL Accor joins Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors. Transfers went live at American Express Canada on July 29, 2026.

Transfer Ratio and Point Value

The conversion rate is set at 2 Membership Rewards points for 1 ALL Reward point. Thus, 1,000 Membership Rewards points yield 500 Reward points, with a minimum transfer of 1,000 points. Minimums and maximums apply, on eligible cards only.

The 2:1 ratio may seem low at first glance. However, Reward points have a fixed value of approximately 2 euro cents each: 2,000 points provide a €40 discount on a stay. At the current exchange rate, each transferred Membership Rewards point is therefore worth approximately 1.6 Canadian cents.

Consequently, a card that earns 5 points per dollar in certain categories, such as the American Express Cobalt^® Card, can generate a return of approximately 8% in hotel value.

Depending on the card used, the return varies from 1.6% to 8% on eligible purchases when you transfer them to ALL Accor.

A bridge to the airlines

Reward points are not just for hotel nights. ALL Accor also converts them into some thirty airline programs. So you can chain Membership Rewards points into Reward points, then into miles, exactly as you already do with Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors.

The math is unfavourable most of the time. Accor’s usual airline ratio is 2,000 Reward points for 1,000 miles, so 1,000 Membership Rewards points end up as 250 miles. Through Marriott Bonvoy, the same 1,000 Membership Rewards points become 1,200 Bonvoy points, then 400 miles at the 3-to-1 ratio, and more with the 5,000-mile bonus on every 60,000 points.

The one exception is Qantas Frequent Flyer. Accor applies an enhanced ratio there: 2,000 Reward points for 2,500 Qantas points. The result is 625 Qantas points for 1,000 Membership Rewards points, versus 400 through Marriott Bonvoy. With the American Express Cobalt Card and its 5 points per dollar, that climbs to 3.125 Qantas points per dollar spent on groceries and dining.

ALL Accor also unlocks programs that Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors do not offer:

• Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles

None of these carriers flies to Canada non-stop, so the value is mostly regional, worth keeping in mind when you travel in those parts of the world. One deserves a bookmark: Air Europa belongs to SkyTeam, and its SUMA miles can be redeemed on Air France and KLM flights.

Fairmont and Accor in Canada

For many Canadians, Accor is synonymous with Fairmont. Indeed, the iconic chain belongs to Accor and fully participates in the ALL program. Your Reward points therefore reduce the bill at the Château Frontenac, the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, or the Fairmont Tremblant.

The group also has Novotel and Sofitel hotels in Ontario and Quebec, an MGallery property in Vancouver, as well as the Rimrock in Banff within the Emblems Collection.

ALL Gold Status with the Platinum Card

The partnership between Accor and American Express is not limited to points transfers. Indeed, later this year, holders of American Express Platinum Cards, including business and corporate versions, will automatically receive Gold status in the ALL program.

Our Analysis

Membership Rewards remain the most flexible rewards currency in Canada. With ALL Accor, you get one more hotel option, particularly useful in Canada and Europe, where the Accor group has a strong presence.

However, the value of approximately 1.6 cents per point remains lower than what transfers to Aeroplan can offer on award flights. Therefore, reserve this type of transfer for stays where a simple and predictable discount suits you, and transfer only the necessary points.
