When can you redeem your cash back with the Scotia Momentum® Visa Infinite +* Card?

You can redeem your cash back as soon as your balance reaches $25, at any time, via the Scotia app or Scotia Online. There’s no longer any need to wait until November as was previously the case.

What cash back rate does the Scotia Momentum® Visa Infinite +* Card offer?

The card offers 4% cash back on grocery purchases and recurring bill payments (insurance, subscriptions, etc.), 2% on gas and public transit, and 1% on all other purchases.

Is there an annual limit for the boosted 2% and 4% rates?

Yes. The 2% and 4% rates apply up to $25,000 in combined annual purchases in these categories (about $2,000 per month). Beyond that limit, all purchases earn 1%.

Can you get 4% cash back on gift cards bought at grocery stores?

Yes. Gift card purchases made at a grocery store qualify for the 4% rate. It’s a way to earn an enhanced return at merchants that aren’t grocery stores themselves, such as Amazon.ca, the SAQ, or Netflix.

What travel medical insurance is included with the card?

The card includes emergency medical insurance of up to $1,000,000 per person for the cardholder, their spouse, and dependent children. It automatically covers people under 65 for trips of up to 15 consecutive days outside their province.

Does the card cover trip cancellation and trip interruption?

Yes, provided you charge at least 75% of the trip cost to the card. Trip cancellation insurance covers up to $1,500 per person ($10,000 per trip) and trip interruption insurance up to $2,000 per person ($10,000 per trip).

Is there insurance for flight delays?

Yes. If your flight is delayed by at least 4 hours, or if you miss a connection resulting in a wait of 4 hours or more, the card reimburses reasonable living expenses up to $500 per trip for all insured travellers.

Does the card offer insurance for lost or delayed baggage?

Yes. In the event of loss, the card covers up to $500 per claim. If your baggage is delayed by more than 4 hours after arriving at your destination, it reimburses up to $500 for essential items for all insured travellers.

Does the card include rental car insurance?

Yes. If you pay the full rental cost with the card and decline the damage waiver offered by the agency, you’re protected against damage to and theft of the rental vehicle.

Is there mobile device insurance with the card?

Yes. When you buy your cellphone, smartphone, or tablet with the card, you’re covered up to $1,000 in the event of loss, theft, accidental damage, or mechanical failure.
