BMO Rewards: Use your points for any travel!

15,000 points = $100 on any travel purchase
BMO Rewards is BMO’s loyalty program. Several BMO credit cards are part of this program:
| Credit card | Annual fee | Welcome offer | |
|---|---|---|---|
| $0 | |||
| $0 | |||
| $599 | |||
| $0 |
It is possible to book your travel, wherever you wish, with your BMO Rewards credit card. Then apply your points to this expense at the same conversion rate: 15,000 points = $100.
All you have to do is book your flight, hotel night, or car rental through any travel booking site (Expedia, Booking, Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Autos, Auto Europe, etc.).
In the spring of 2022, BMO offered this option on a temporary basis. Here is an example with a hotel booked via Expedia (with a reservation that is fully refundable in case of trip cancellation).
The expense appears in the Pay with BMO Points option:
Within the next 30 days, all you have to do is indicate the number of points you wish to use. Here, I redeem all my BMO points:
Then a confirmation of the BMO points redemption is displayed indicating that the transaction was successful:
A few days later, a credit appears on your credit card account, corresponding to the redemption of BMO Rewards points for your travel:
Here are the terms for redeeming BMO Rewards points:
Your purchases must be made at merchants that are classified as: airlines, car rental agencies, hotels/resorts, cruise lines, passenger railways, timeshares, travel agencies and tour operators.

Bottom Line
This is a great opportunity to use your BMO Rewards points at their best value. In fact, this was a criticism often expressed in the Milesopedia Community regarding the BMO Rewards program.
We are pleased to see that BMO has decided to make this solution permanent since August 2, 2022!
