A BMO Rewards point is worth 0.67¢ when you apply it to a travel purchase (150 points = $1). For redemption, caps and point expiry, see our BMO Rewards program page.

Our review of this offer
The BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card welcome offer earns you up to 70,000 points, worth $467 in travel, in three tiers. According to BMO's terms, it applies to applications received by October 31, 2027:
30,000 points after $4,000 in net purchases within the first 110 days
20,000 points after $7,000 in net purchases within the first 180 days
20,000 points after $12,000 in net purchases within the first 12 months
The amounts are cumulative: purchases for the first tier also count toward the second, then the third. A pace of about $1,200 a month for six months covers the first two tiers; you then have $4,800 left to charge in six months, or $800 a month. In our view, it is the easiest BMO offer to unlock with a typical family budget.

Which BMO card to choose?
Based on your profile, here is the BMO card to choose:
BMO Ascend World Elite Mastercard*: you want a versatile travel card. Its $150 annual fee is refunded in the first year, which gives you twelve months to try it. You get its travel insurance, 4 airport lounge passes per year and 5 points per dollar on travel.
BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card: groceries, gas and restaurants take up a big part of your budget. You receive a $50 credit on each account anniversary and use your points to pay for a trip from time to time.
BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege* Card: it combines the categories of the two cards above, with airport lounge visits and a $200 annual credit. Its $599 annual fee makes sense if you travel often and spend a lot.
Which BMO Rewards card offers the biggest welcome bonus?
The BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege* Card offers the largest bonus: up to 200,000 BMO Rewards points, worth $1,333 in travel, for a $599 annual fee and a minimum income of $150,000 ($200,000 per household). The BMO Ascend World Elite Mastercard* follows with up to 115,000 points and no fee in the first year ($150 after that). The BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card offers up to 70,000 points, also with no fee in the first year ($120 after that).
How do BMO Rewards points work?
You redeem BMO Rewards points with Pay with Points: 150 points are worth $1 on a travel purchase (about 0.67¢ per point) and 200 points are worth $1 on other purchases. You can apply points to a purchase charged to the card up to 90 days after the purchase date. Travel includes flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises and travel agencies, with no date or airline restrictions, unlike fixed-chart programs such as Aeroplan.
Which BMO card is best for groceries?
The BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card gives you 5 BMO Rewards points per dollar on groceries, dining (including delivery and takeout), gas and public transit, up to annual caps of $6,000 on dining, $6,000 on groceries, $20,000 on gas and $20,000 on transit. It is the most rewarding BMO card for a household with a big grocery budget, for $120 a year. The BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege* Card also earns 5 points per dollar in these categories, plus drugstores and travel, but its $599 fee makes it a card for big spenders. The Ascend World Elite earns mostly on travel.
BMO credits each bonus tranche up to eight weeks after you reach the spending tier. Only net purchases count, meaning purchases less refunds, cash advances and fees. If you close the card within 365 days of opening the account, BMO may reverse the bonus points already credited.
Which BMO Rewards card has no annual fee?
Of the four cards in this article, the BMO eclipse rise Visa* Card is the only one with no annual fee, and it has no minimum income requirement. You earn 20,000 points after $1,500 in purchases in the first 3 months, worth about $133 in travel, then 5 points per $2 on groceries, dining and recurring bill payments.
Can you transfer BMO Rewards points to Aeroplan?
BMO Rewards does not transfer points to airline or hotel programs. Instead, you use them with Pay with Points, at 150 points per $1 on a travel purchase, or give them to another BMO Rewards member (1,000 points minimum, final). Our BMO Rewards program page covers every redemption option.
