Harbour Air and Aeroplan: Redeem Your Points on West Coast Seaplanes, From 9,000 Points

As of October 28, 2026, you can redeem Aeroplan points for scheduled Harbour Air flights. Harbour Air is the largest seaplane airline in North America. Rewards start at 9,000 points, are booked on aircanada.com or in the Air Canada app, and cover the network's 13 destinations in British Columbia and Seattle. This builds on the partnership launched in December 2025, which already let you earn Aeroplan points on eligible fares. Details are on the Aeroplan partners page and in the Harbour Air newsroom.
According to Aeroplan and Harbour Air, these are the rules at launch:
The "select partners" chart is the one Aeroplan already uses for Calm Air, Canadian North and PAL Airlines. Prices on it change with demand, as they do on Air Canada flights. We covered it when Aeroplan rolled out its new fare structure for airline partners.

Harbour Air operates up to 200 flights a day from its two hubs, Vancouver and Victoria. Most flights take about 30 minutes and land right downtown, on the water.

| Vancouver (airport) | YVR South seaplane terminal, Richmond | Lower Mainland | Next to Vancouver International's South Terminal; departure point for wheeled flights |
| Victoria | Victoria Harbour Airport, Inner Harbour | Vancouver Island | Floating terminal near the Parliament Buildings; wheeled flights to YYJ in winter |
| Nanaimo | Pioneer Waterfront Plaza, Nanaimo Harbour | Vancouver Island | Downtown terminal |
| Comox | Comox Valley Marina | Vancouver Island | Comox Valley |
| Campbell River | Campbell River Harbour | Vancouver Island | New route from Vancouver in July 2026 |
| Tofino | Tofino Harbour | West coast of Vancouver Island | Wheeled flights to Tofino-Long Beach Airport (YAZ) in season |

| Sechelt | Porpoise Bay | Sunshine Coast | Southern Sunshine Coast |
| Powell River | Powell Lake | Sunshine Coast | Northern Sunshine Coast |
| Whistler | Green Lake | Sea-to-Sky | 3 km north of Whistler Village |
| Seattle | Lake Union | Washington State (U.S.) | Seasonal; about 1 hour from Vancouver and once daily from Victoria in 2026 |
The map below shows the network's main routes. Some routes, such as Seattle, Ucluelet and Campbell River, are seasonal: check the schedule before you search for a reward.

Aeroplan advertises Harbour Air rewards from 9,000 points. Because the chart is dynamic, the price can climb on high-demand days.
To decide whether a redemption makes sense, compare it with the cash fare. Milesopedia values Aeroplan points at 2¢ each on its Aeroplan loyalty program page. At that rate, a 9,000-point reward is worth about $180, before taxes and booking fees.
Harbour Air's one-way cash fares are often much lower on its short routes:
Points start to make sense in three situations:
On a Vancouver–Victoria flight booked well ahead, paying cash is often the better choice. Keep your points for a flight where they're worth more, and earn Aeroplan points on the paid ticket instead.
The full terms are in the Aeroplan flight reward policy.
Harbour Air flies more than 40 aircraft, almost all of them Canadian-built de Havilland seaplanes. The aircraft type depends on the route.
| Aircraft | Passengers | Number of aircraft | Cruising speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DHC-3 Single Otter | Up to 14 | 22 | 210 km/h | The backbone of the seaplane fleet |
| DHC-6 Twin Otter | Up to 19 | 4 | 296 km/h | The largest aircraft, twin-engine |
| DHC-2 Beaver | Up to 6 | 9 | 180 km/h | The smallest seaplane in the fleet |
| Cessna Grand Caravan EX | Not specified | 1 (added in 2018) | Not specified | Equipped for instrument flying, mainly on Vancouver–Seattle and Vancouver–Tofino |
On a seaplane, weight matters. Harbour Air weighs all bags at check-in, including purses and briefcases. Everything goes in the cargo hold: only very small items that fit in the seat-back pocket can come into the cabin. No single bag can weigh more than 50 lb.
On paid tickets, the allowance depends on the fare. Extra baggage costs $3 per pound, subject to space. Aeroplan and Harbour Air haven't said which allowance applies to a reward ticket, so check it in your booking before you pack.
| Fare | Seaplane (scheduled flights) | Wheeled aircraft (YVR South to Victoria or Tofino) | Changes and cancellations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light | 10 lb | 15 lb | No changes or cancellations |
| Value | 15 lb | 30 lb | Harbour Air credit, $50 fee |
| Comfort | 25 lb | 45 lb | Harbour Air credit, $25 fee |
| Flex | 50 lb | 60 lb | No fee, refundable up to 1 hour before departure |
| Aircraft | Width | Length | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| DHC-6 Twin Otter | 25 in | 36 in | 36 in |
| DHC-3 Single Otter | 18 in | 42 in | 54 in |
| Cessna Grand Caravan | 19 in | 12 in | 30 in |
| DHC-2 Beaver | 23 in | 34 in | 14 in |
Since December 2025, Aeroplan members earn a fixed number of points per flight, based on the fare purchased:
Harbour Air also has its own loyalty program, the Harbour Air Club. Members earn Club Credits on qualifying flights and move through three tiers: Blue, Silver and Gold. Higher tiers bring perks such as waived baggage fees, priority service and companion flight vouchers. According to Harbour Air, Harbour Air Club members keep earning Aeroplan points on eligible paid flights.

Harbour Air gives Aeroplan members a new way to use their points on the West Coast, with arrivals in downtown Vancouver, Victoria or Seattle. On short trips booked early, the cash fare is often lower than the value of the points you'd spend. Rewards make the most sense for late bookings, routes to Tofino, Ucluelet or Seattle, or for using up a small balance.
