Sofitel, the luxury hotel brand renowned for blending French elegance with local cultural richness, proudly announces the completion of an extensive renovation of its flagship Canadian property: Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile.
This ambitious transformation redefines the hotel experience by blending sophistication, contemporary design, and warm hospitality. It includes the metamorphosis of the lobby and the RENOIR restaurant, the opening of a brand new NINI Cocktail Lounge, as well as the modernization of guest rooms, common areas, the fitness centre, and meeting spaces.
Located on Sherbrooke Street, in the heart of Montreal’s prestigious Golden Square Mile, the hotel enjoys a prime location near the city’s iconic attractions: Mount Royal, the Museum of Fine Arts, and high-end fashion boutiques. This five-star establishment features 256 rooms, including 17 suites, the gourmet restaurant RENOIR led by renowned Executive Chef Olivier Perret, a vibrant cocktail lounge, over 10,000 sq ft of meeting spaces, and a contemporary fitness center with a private yoga room.
Highlights of the Transformation
Lobby and Entrance Hall
From the moment guests arrive, they are welcomed into a reimagined entrance hall, featuring a striking wall of metallic ribbons and a teal blue light installation. This pathway leads to a custom-designed library area, where suspended artworks evoke the lightness of birds in flight.
NINI Cocktail Lounge & RENOIR Restaurant
The brand new NINI Cocktail Lounge, centered around an elegant bar with rosy tones, seamlessly transforms from day to night. The RENOIR restaurant offers a refined dining experience in a bright dining room featuring a mirrored bronze ceiling and elegant French finishes. The lush sunroom brings a welcoming and warm atmosphere.
Suites and Rooms
The renovated guest rooms feature soft colour palettes and refined details, creating an intimate and elegant atmosphere that reflects the French art of living.
Fitness & Yoga Room
The expanded fitness area incorporates natural and warm materials, a copper refreshment station, and French moldings framing the mirrors. A private yoga room completes this wellness experience.
Meeting and Event Spaces
The Picasso, Monet, Chagall, Matisse, and Gauguin rooms have been completely redesigned with new carpets and custom-made furniture. Upstairs, visitors are greeted by a magnificent stained-glass mosaic signed by Titu Dragutescu and Nicolae Moldovanu, adding a unique artistic touch to the entire space.
Important Information for Travellers and Rewards Program Members
The hotel is part of the Accor Live Limitless (ALL Accor) loyalty program, which allows travellers to earn and redeem points during their stay. Program members can therefore enjoy exclusive benefits, such as upgrades, late check-outs, or privileged experiences at the group’s establishments worldwide. While there is no credit card in Canada directly linked to the ALL Accor program, it is still possible to cover part or all of your stay through other means. For example, holders of the National Bank World Elite Mastercard can use their reward points to obtain travel credit helping to reduce the cost of their reservation at Sofitel.
In addition, Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile is part of The Hotel Collection from American Express. Cardmembers of the American Express Platinum Card also enjoy additional benefits when booking, including an annual $200 travel credit that can be applied to their stay, as well as perks such as complimentary room upgrades upon arrival (subject to availability) and an on-property experience credit.
These benefits make Sofitel a particularly attractive option for travellers looking to maximize their rewards and enjoy a premium experience in Montreal.
