For example, during a recent bonus event, you could earn 5 More Rewards points per $1 spent through the travel portal.

Watch for special offers

To maximize the More Rewards points you can earn on your grocery store purchases, make sure to watch for points promotions such as digital coupons, in-store bonus offers, and personalized earning opportunities. These offers can be found when you sign in to your account and click on « My Offers, » and by watching local flyers and your email.

By checking your My Offers, you may see point multiplier offers like “2x the points,” bonus points offered if you buy the listed item (e.g., “buy grapes and earn 200 points”), or special lower prices for More Rewards members.

Although we’ve assessed the value of More Rewards points to be, on average, about 0.2 cents each, this value can actually fluctuate a fair bit depending on the redemption path you choose.

In the sections below, we’ll share the best ways to redeem your More Rewards points and what kind of value you can expect to get.

Free groceries

One of the most common and easiest ways to redeem your More Rewards points is to save money on your groceries bill.

You can redeem 10,000 points for $15 off your grocery bill in person at Save-On-Foods, PriceSmart Foods, Buy-Low Foods, Urban Fare, Quality Foods, and Nester Market.

You can also redeem your points at the same rate through the More Rewards e-commerce platform. However, to redeem online, you need to spend at least $55 before taxes, and you’re limited to one redemption per transaction.

Redeeming your points for groceries gets you a value of 1 More Rewards point = 0.15 cents.

Gift cards

Another easy way to redeem your More Rewards points is by exchanging them for gift cards at participating Save-On-Foods, PriceSmart Foods, Urban Fare, Nesters Market, Quality Foods, and Buy-Low Foods.

The gift card selection will vary store to store, but you can usually find gift cards for groceries, Starbucks, Esso, Canadian Tire, IKEA, Apple, and many more.

The redemption value for this option can fluctuate quite a bit depending on the details of your booking, but we’ve seen options like a night in a beautiful hotel in Mexico City for just over 87,000 points (cash value of $374.55).

With this example, you’d be getting a value of 0.43 cents per point, which is nearly three times as much as the 0.15 cents per point value you get when you redeem for free groceries!

Another fun way to redeem your More Rewards points is for event tickets and experience vouchers through the More Rewards Online Store.
