Save on an all-inclusive vacation
To really get the most out of your TD Rewards Points and to maximize the amount you save on your all-inclusive vacation, you’ll want to make your booking through Expedia for TD.
When booking through this easy-to-navigate travel portal, you can redeem your TD Rewards Points to help cover travel expenses at a rate of 200 TD Rewards Points = $1 (or 0.5 cents each).
This means that the welcome offer of 165,000 TD Rewards Points is worth $825 off an all-inclusive vacation or other travel booked through Expedia for TD.
Additionally, as you make purchases on the card to meet the spending requirement for the welcome offer, you’ll earn even more TD Rewards Points, so you’ll be able to save around another $75-200 if you redeem these for your trip.
The TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite* Card also comes with an annual TD Travel Credit of $100 when you book with Expedia For TD, boosting your savings even further.
Altogether, this gives you a potential savings of over $1,000 just for signing up for the card and meeting the minimum spend requirement!
Where can you go?
With the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite* Card and TD Rewards Points, you can travel to just about anywhere in the world. This is because Expedia for TD lets you book pretty much all your favourite destinations, hotels, and resorts and then use your points to help cover the cost.
Let’s look at a couple of examples to see where these savings can take you.
Save on a Family Trip to the Dominican Republic
A great way to use your TD Rewards Points is to book a family-friendly, all-inclusive trip to the Dominican Republic, where you can enjoy the beach, massive swimming pools, activities for everyone, delicious food, and more.
In this example, we searched for a week-long stay at a family-focused resort for 2 adults and 2 kids, flying from Montreal (YUL) to Punta Cana (PUJ) in early March.
With this booking, if you were to use your $100 annual TD Travel Credit plus the TD Rewards Points that you earned from the welcome offer and associated spending, you could save nearly half the cost of one person or a 1/8th of the cost of the entire trip!
With these savings, you can treat your family to an extra special excursion during your week in the sun, or stock up on amazing souvenirs to remember the trip for years to come.
Couple’s Getaway to Mexico
If you’re looking for more of an adults-only trip, you could check out an all-inclusive trip for two to a beachside resort in Cancun.
We searched for a week-long stay in this sunny locale, flying from Toronto (YYZ) to Cancun (CUN) at the end of February to give you a break from the winter cold.
As you can see from the image above, if you were to use your accumulated TD Rewards Points plus the $100 Travel Credit, you could easily save nearly a third of the cost of this trip.
This would give you lots of extra cash for day-trips to visit the nearby ancient ruins, cenotes, and amazing nature in Quintana Roo and neighbouring Yucatan.
Save on other travel
Another great way to redeem your TD Rewards Points to save on travel is through the Pay Off Purchases option.
With this feature, you can use your points to help cover eligible travel expenses that you’ve made on your TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite* Card at the following rate:
- 225 TD Rewards Points = $1 (or 0.44 cents per point)
Keep in mind that the Pay Off Purchases option can also be used for non-travel purchases, but you’ll only get a redemption value of 400 TD Rewards Points = $1 (0.25 cents per point), so this isn’t the best choice out there.
Although this option isn’t quite as valuable as booking through Expedia For TD, it does let you save on travel plans that aren’t available through this portal, like Airbnbs, small boutique hotels, train travel, and more.
TD also advertises a Book Any Way redemption option, offering a lower value of 250 TD Rewards Points = $1 (0.4 cents per point), but it seems to be limited to select clients or redeemable only by phone, so you’ll have to check your account or call a TD customer service representative if you’d like to explore this option further.
Travel in Style
In addition to giving you an easily accessible way to save $1,000+ on your next trip, the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite* Card also comes with a ton of travel perks and benefits that can help make your trip more comfortable and convenient:
