Porter Airlines: New Ottawa Routes and Winter 2026-2027 Sun Destinations
Share

Porter Airlines is expanding its network on two fronts simultaneously. On one hand, the airline is launching daily service between Ottawa, Windsor, and Sudbury starting today. On the other, it is announcing four new sun destinations for winter 2026-2027, with an increase of over 150% in its Southern offerings compared to last year. In total, nearly 5,000 sun flights will operate this winter from six Canadian airports.

Six Canadian airports are benefiting from this expansion: Halifax, Hamilton, Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary. To compare payment options, visit our page on the best credit cards in Canada.

Porter Connects Ottawa to Windsor and Sudbury

Starting May 1, 2026, Porter Airlines is launching daily non-stop service between Ottawa (YOW) and Windsor (YQG), as well as between Ottawa and Sudbury (YSB). These two routes are exclusively offered by Porter.

The airline’s growing presence at YOW means travelers can now easily access a wide range of destinations from the national capital: Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, St. John’s, Halifax, Moncton, Fredericton, and Charlottetown, as well as connections to the United States and Mexico. This summer, Porter will operate more flights from Ottawa than any other carrier.

Porter: 4 New Sun Destinations

The arrival of the new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft in Porter’s fleet opens the door to longer routes. As a result, the airline is adding four new destinations to its winter network:

  • Aruba (AUA): new Caribbean destination served from Toronto and Ottawa
  • Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ): three routes from Toronto, Ottawa, and Hamilton
  • Los Cabos, Mexico (SJD): addition to the Mexican network from Toronto, Ottawa, and Edmonton
  • San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO): second gateway to Costa Rica after Liberia

These additions complement existing service to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman, and Liberia. Furthermore, Porter becomes the only airline to offer flights to Aruba and Los Cabos from Ottawa, as well as to Montego Bay from Hamilton.

Porter – First International Flights from Alberta

This announcement marks a turning point for Porter in Western Canada. Indeed, Edmonton (YEG) welcomes the airline’s first international flights from Alberta, with four new routes: Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.

Calgary (YYC) is also adding daily service to Phoenix. Additionally, Porter is resuming the Vancouver–Phoenix route and enhancing its Toronto–Phoenix offering with a second daily flight. All these flights offer connections to American Airlines’ network, the result of the partnership between Porter and American Airlines.

We are concluding an extremely successful first season of flights to southern markets beyond the United States, and we are building on this momentum with additional destinations and routes for next winter. Our network continues to grow with the addition of two new countries, four cities, and 15 routes.

– Andrew Pierce, Vice President, Network Planning and Reporting, Porter Airlines
