Porter Airlines today launches its first flights from the new Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET), located in Longueuil on the South Shore. This June 15, 2026, four inaugural routes depart for Vancouver, Toronto-Pearson, Toronto City, and St. John’s. Within a week, Porter will serve 11 Canadian destinations from MET, just in time for the summer season.
MET Airport (official code YHU) occupies the site of the former Saint-Hubert Airport. Thanks to its proximity to downtown, it offers a convenient alternative to Montreal-Trudeau (YUL). Furthermore, Porter will almost double its capacity in Greater Montreal this summer, with over 1,000 additional flights. If you wish to maximize your VIPorter points or take advantage of the best travel credit cards, these new routes multiply the opportunities.
MET Airport for Greater Montreal
MET is a private, national-scale transportation infrastructure project. The terminal features a compact, open design, intended to reduce time spent at the airport. Moreover, its location in Longueuil makes it quickly accessible from downtown, the South Shore, and the eastern part of the metropolis.
According to projections, passenger traffic will reach one million in the first year, then climb to four million annually at full capacity. Thus, MET establishes itself as a new transportation hub for a growing metropolitan region.
11 Porter Airlines Routes from MET
Porter is deploying 11 routes from MET within one week, from June 15 to June 22, 2026. The network covers Canada from coast to coast, with frequencies reaching 27 flights per week to Toronto City (Billy Bishop).
