How to Earn the 40,000 Aeroplan points Welcome Bonus on the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card?
The bonus consists of three parts. You earn 10,000 Aeroplan points upon your first purchase with the card, an additional 15,000 points after spending $3,000 within the first 90 days, followed by a one-time anniversary bonus of 15,000 Aeroplan points after spending $12,000 within the first 12 months. The $139 annual fee is also waived for the first year.
Does the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card include a free first checked bag on Air Canada?
Yes. The cardholder and up to 8 companions on the same Air Canada reservation benefit from a free first checked bag on domestic, transborder, and international flights. At approximately $35 per bag per segment, the benefit quickly pays for itself: a family of 4 on a round trip to the South saves about $280 on a single trip, which already covers the $139 annual fee twice over. The free baggage allowance is automatically applied at check-in, provided the ticket was paid for with the card or with Aeroplan points.
What are the minimum income requirements for the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card?
TD requires a personal income of $60,000 or a household income of $100,000 to approve any Visa Infinite card, including the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card. If you do not meet these thresholds, TD will direct you to the TD Aeroplan Platinum Visa Card, which offers a more modest bonus but has no minimum income requirement. You must also have a credit score of around 700+ and no recent delinquencies. Self-employed individuals can justify their income via their tax return — it is the net income from line 150 that counts.
Is the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card accepted at Costco in Canada?
No. Costco Canada only accepts Mastercard at checkouts and gas stations — no Visa cards, including the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card, work in Costco warehouses. You can still use it on Costco.ca for online orders. For in-store Costco purchases, a secondary Mastercard such as the CIBC Costco Mastercard or the MBNA Rewards World Elite Mastercard is required. The majority of Aeroplan collectors combine both types of cards.
