Updated November 2, 2026: added screenshots, detailed rules, things to know before redeeming, how to claim missing points, and an FAQ.
Air Transat launched Staria, its new rewards program, today, November 2, 2026. Members earn 3 to 7 points per dollar on flights operated by Air Transat or Porter, depending on the fare, then use those points to pay for part or all of an Air Transat flight. Enrolment is free and open now.
For the full rules (earning, redeeming, stars, constellation and expiry), see our Staria program guide.

What the Staria program is
Staria follows the closed test phase Air Transat opened in August 2026. The program has three parts: points on your purchases, stars earned by completing missions, and a constellation to pool your points with family and friends.
Enrolment: free, from age 2. Children are enrolled by a parent or legal guardian from the Constellation section of the member area.
Where to sign up: only on the Canadian versions of airtransat.com and transat.com, on the Staria sign-up page. Online enrolment requires a Canadian address.
Account: one email address per member, and two-factor authentication is mandatory.
Expiry: points expire after 36 months of inactivity.
Annick Guérard, President and CEO of Transat, describes Staria as a major driver of growth and revenue diversification for the company.
How to earn Staria points
You earn points on the amount paid before taxes and airport fees. Flights operated by Porter also earn Staria points, at the same rate as Air Transat flights. Full details are on the Staria earn points page.
Staria points earning rates (before taxes and airport fees), as of November 2, 2026
You must be a member at the time of the flight and add your membership number before departure. It cannot be added after the outbound flight.
Points go to the person travelling, regardless of who paid for the booking.
Points usually post a few hours after the flight: up to 24 hours for Porter, and up to 30 days if you were rebooked on another carrier.
On a connecting ticket, points are split between flights based on distance.
Options only count if you add them in advance: more than 48 hours before departure (seats, bags, Option Plus), more than 72 hours for meals, and within 48 hours of booking for Option Flex, for a departure more than 21 days away.
No points on upgrades to Club class, airport purchases, taxes, car rentals, excursions, insurance or donations.
You still earn when paying with a travel credit, and on the cash portion when you redeem points.
For packages, every flight must be operated by Air Transat. The flights in a package do not earn points on top of the package points.
How to use your Staria points
Redeeming takes 4 steps, on the Staria redeem points page: log in, choose your destination, pick your dates, then apply your points.
Source: Air Transat
Flight: you pay 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% or 100% of the fare and carrier surcharge in points. Every flight on the itinerary must be operated by Air Transat.
Transat package: only part of it, with a minimum of 10%, for a discount of up to 40% of the total amount.
Dates: no blackout dates.
Taxes and airport fees: always paid in cash.
Points apply to the whole booking, not to a single passenger. You can book with your points for someone else. For a lap infant, the base fare is free, but taxes may apply.

Staria missions and stars
Stars are reserved for members aged 18 and over, and they do not expire. You earn them by completing missions in your member area. Full details are on the Staria stars page.

In the member area we viewed on November 2, 2026, six missions earn stars:
complete your member profile: 6 stars;
log in through the app: 6 stars;
create a constellation: 4 stars;
join a constellation: 4 stars;
travel with other members: 2 stars;
take a flight: 1 star.

You need 48 stars to unlock a first reward choice. You then pick 1 reward out of 3: free standard seat selection, 50% bonus points on your next package, or 2,000 instant points. The next tiers list 50% bonus points on a flight, priority baggage delivery and 1,000 instant points.

Air Transat also lists other rewards: a free first checked bag, a free pre-ordered Bistro menu meal and priority boarding. More missions are announced, such as answering a survey, subscribing to the newsletter, referring a friend or logging in at least once a month.
You have 30 days to choose an unlocked reward, or a default reward is assigned. A confirmed choice cannot be changed. A flight-related reward must be used within 12 months, is reserved for the member who earned it, and is lost if you change or cancel that flight.

The constellation: up to 9 members
The Staria constellation brings together you and up to 8 other people, for 9 members in total, in a shared balance. The adult member who creates it becomes its manager.

Each member's points go into the shared balance after travel.
The manager decides who can only earn and who can also redeem points.
When points are redeemed, each member's balance drops in proportion to their contribution.
If you leave, you get your share back, minus points already used. You must then wait 6 months before joining or creating another constellation.
It is the only way to combine points: Staria does not allow buying or transferring points.

Desjardins and Visa: Staria cards in 2027
According to Air Transat's press release, Desjardins and Visa are strategic partners of the program. They will offer credit cards that earn Staria points. Details will be released when the cards launch, later in 2027: no fees or welcome offer are known yet.
If you meet the conditions and your points still have not appeared 30 days after travel, fill out the Staria points claim form.
If you were already a member when you travelled but forgot to add your membership number to the booking, you can submit a request within 6 months of the flight. Travel completed before you enrolled does not earn points.
Customer service is available at 1-866-815-5194 or 514-940-7907, Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Eastern Time).
What we don't know yet
The value of a point: Air Transat publishes no dollar equivalent, such as "X points = $1". Value to be confirmed.
Status: the program mentions no elite status tiers. Tiers only apply to stars.
Other partners: more earning partners will be added gradually, with no names announced yet.
Test phase balances: the official pages do not say what happens to points earned during the test phase.
What to know before using your points
Staria is easy to understand: you earn points per dollar spent and apply them to the ticket price, with no award chart. A few conditions are still worth checking before you pay with points:
36 months without activity: your points are lost. An active constellation protects you: the account stays active if it holds at least 1 point and a member has activity within 36 months.
No buying or transfers: Staria does not sell points, and only a constellation lets you combine them. If you close your account, you lose your points.
Promo codes and travel credits: you cannot pay with points together with a promo code or a travel credit. Paying with points also excludes monthly instalments and package deposits, and only one credit card is accepted.
Cancellation insurance: it cannot be purchased for a flight paid with points. For an insured package, the refund only covers the portion paid in cash.
Cancellation fees: on a booking paid 100% with points, fees are converted into points. In Club Standard: 5,000 points (Canada and U.S.), 20,000 points (South) and 30,000 points (Europe, Peru, Brazil and Africa).
Upgrades: an upgrade from Economy to Club class earns no points.
6-month wait: after leaving a constellation, you wait 6 months before joining or creating another one.
Stars: reserved for members aged 18 and over. Junior members earn points, but not stars.
How much does it cost to join Staria?
Nothing: enrolment is free. It is only available on the Canadian versions of airtransat.com and transat.com, and online enrolment requires a Canadian address. Without one, you must use Air Transat's assistance form.
What is the minimum age to become a member?
Age 2. A parent or legal guardian enrols the child from the Constellation section of their member area. When the child reaches the age of majority, the junior account is transferred to their name, with its points.
How many Staria points do you earn per dollar?
On flights operated by Air Transat or Porter: 3 points per dollar in Eco Budget, 5 in Eco Standard or Club Standard, and 7 in Eco Flex or Club Flex. Transat packages earn 1 point per dollar and Air Transat options earn 5 points per dollar. Points are calculated before taxes and airport fees.
When do points appear in my account?
Usually a few hours after the flight. Allow up to 24 hours for a Porter flight, and up to 30 days if you were rebooked on another carrier.
Can I add my membership number after the trip?
Not online: you must be a member at the time of the flight and add the number before departure. If you were already a member and forgot to add it, you can file a claim within 6 months of the flight. Travel completed before you enrolled earns no points.
Who gets the points: the traveller or the person who pays?
The traveller. Points go to each member passenger on the booking, regardless of who paid.
Which purchases do not earn points?
Upgrades from Economy to Club class, airport purchases, taxes and airport fees, car rentals, excursions, insurance and donations. Options must be bought more than 48 hours before departure (more than 72 hours for meals).
Do Transat packages earn points?
Yes, 1 point per dollar on the package (flight, hotel and transfers), as long as every flight is operated by Air Transat. The package flights do not earn extra points.
How do I use my points on a flight?
Log in, choose your flight, then apply your points at payment. You can cover 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% or 100% of the fare and carrier surcharge. Every flight on the itinerary must be operated by Air Transat, and there are no blackout dates.
Can I pay for a whole package with points?
No. On a package, points only cover part of the price, with a minimum of 10% and a discount of up to 40% of the total amount.
Do points cover taxes?
No. Taxes and airport fees are always paid in cash. You earn points on the portion paid in cash.
Can I combine points with a promo code or a travel credit?
No. You cannot pay with points together with a promo code, a travel credit, monthly instalments or a package deposit. Only one credit card is accepted for the balance.
Can I insure a trip paid with points?
Not against cancellation: no cancellation insurance is offered on a flight booked with points. For an insured package, the insurance refund only covers the portion paid in cash.
What happens if I cancel a booking paid with points?
If you paid partly with points, your points are refunded. If you paid 100% with points, cancellation fees are converted into points: in Club Standard, 5,000 points (Canada and U.S.), 20,000 points (South) and 30,000 points (Europe, Peru, Brazil and Africa). Any fare difference is paid in cash.
Do Staria points expire?
Yes, after 36 months without activity. In a constellation, the account stays active if it holds at least 1 point and a member has activity within 36 months. An account inactive for 7 years may be closed, and points are lost when the account is closed.
Can I buy or transfer points?
No. Staria does not sell points and does not allow transfers between members. The only way to pool points is a constellation.
How does a constellation work?
An adult member creates it and becomes its manager. They can invite up to 8 people, for 9 members in total. Everyone's points form a shared balance. The manager decides who can only earn and who can also redeem points. When points are redeemed, each member contributes in proportion to their points.
Can I leave a constellation?
Yes, at any time. You get your share back, minus points already used. You must then wait 6 months before joining or creating another constellation. A 2-member constellation is dissolved if one of them leaves.
Who can earn stars and how many are needed?
Only members aged 18 and over. You need 48 stars to unlock a first choice of 3 rewards. You have 30 days to choose, or a default reward is assigned, and the choice cannot be changed. Stars do not expire and post within 36 hours.
How long do I have to use a flight-related reward?
12 months. The reward is reserved for the member who earned it, cannot be transferred and is lost if the flight is changed or cancelled.
How do I contact Staria customer service?
Call 1-866-815-5194 or 514-940-7907, Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Eastern Time), or use the online assistance form. For points still missing after 30 days, use the Staria points claim form.
