ANA, All Nippon Airways, links Vancouver with Tokyo Haneda and onward destinations in Japan and Asia. When booking, distinguish the operating airline from the program issuing your ticket.
This guide was checked on October 28, 2026. Aircraft, seats, and award availability can change before departure.
ANA from Canada: Vancouver and Haneda
ANA’s Canadian website lists Vancouver–Tokyo Haneda in its network. From another Canadian city, compare a connection through Vancouver with other available itineraries. A booking sold by ANA may include partner-operated segments.
Check the airport for every Tokyo flight. Arriving at Haneda and departing from Narita requires a ground transfer and sufficient time. The city name alone does not guarantee a same-airport connection.
For a domestic connection, review terminals, baggage handling, and connection time. A single ticket can help when you need protection across the journey.
Cabins: THE Room, THE Room FX, and other seats
ANA’s international seat maps show several configurations. A Boeing 787-9 does not identify one cabin product.
THE Room appears on a 777-300ER configuration. THE Room FX is a separate product for selected 787-9 aircraft. ANA describes its door-equipped seat on the 206-seat configuration. An ANA Business label alone guarantees neither.
Before paying for Business, review your flight’s seat map, aisle access, and seat type. Check again after a schedule or aircraft change.
Premium Economy is a separate cabin from Economy, rather than a Business Class bed. Confirm it on the segment you intend to book.
Our historical ANA Boeing 787 review, published in November 2019, covers Singapore–Narita. That specific trip does not establish today’s product from Vancouver.
Baggage and ticket rules
For international flights, ANA allows one cabin bag and one personal item, weighing up to 10 kg combined. Size limits also apply, including to airport purchases.
Read the checked-baggage allowance and extra charges for your booking. Partner rules can apply on some itineraries. Also compare:
- Seat selection: included or charged separately.
- Changes: any fee and fare difference.
- Cancellation: refund eligibility and deadlines.
An award ticket follows the issuing program’s rules. Avoid applying ANA cash-fare conditions to a ticket booked through a different program.
ANA lounges: check eligibility
ANA lounge access depends on cabin, status, and airport. ANA LOUNGE and ANA SUITE LOUNGE have different eligibility.
ANA lists Premium Economy access at selected lounges departing Japan. This does not establish the same entitlement at every Canadian or partner airport.
Star Alliance Gold status can provide another route under its conditions. A Canadian card’s lounge network follows separate rules and does not replace ANA’s policy.
Booking ANA through Aeroplan
Aeroplan lets Canadians search for partner award seats on ANA. Review the Aeroplan partners, then search your dates and party size.
A seat sold by ANA may be unavailable through Aeroplan. Check each segment and cabin. A journey labelled Business may contain a long Economy segment.
Add points, taxes, and partner booking fees. Compare change and cancellation rules too. Our Air Canada hub covers Aeroplan basics, while the United hub describes another network option.
ANA Mileage Club is a separate program
ANA Mileage Club has its own awards and conditions. An Aeroplan balance does not transfer into ANA Mileage Club.
The Canadian Amex airline-transfer directory includes Aeroplan, but no direct ANA Mileage Club transfer. U.S. Amex options do not apply to Canadian Membership Rewards.
If you already hold ANA miles, check account rules, beneficiaries, charges, and expiry on the official ANA Mileage Club website. Compare that route with Aeroplan before moving points from elsewhere.
Canadian cards for Aeroplan bookings
Cobalt: transferring to Aeroplan
The American Express Cobalt Card earns Membership Rewards. Canadian transfers to Aeroplan can support an ANA partner booking when seats are available. The transfer does not fund ANA Mileage Club.
TD Aeroplan: earning directly
The TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card earns Aeroplan points directly. Current offers appear in the native panels below.
Benefits tied to Air Canada flights, including certain baggage or lounge benefits, do not automatically cover ANA-operated travel. Read each benefit’s conditions.
Buying points before booking
Our buy Aeroplan points link is affiliated: Milesopedia may earn a commission. Purchased points remain Aeroplan points, usable for an ANA award only when available.
No direct ANA miles purchase affiliate link was confirmed. Buying Aeroplan points does not add miles to ANA Mileage Club.
First find a seat for every traveller. Add the purchase, taxes, and fees, then compare with cash. Posting delays or disappearing availability can prevent the booking.
