ANA Mileage Club is the loyalty program of All Nippon Airways (ANA). This airline is a member of the Star Alliance consortium.
Earning Points
You earn ANA Mileage Club miles by flying with All Nippon Airways within Japan and internationally. You can also rack them up with Star Alliance partner airlines and thirteen others outside the consortium.
Then you earn them when you book hotels, rent a car with a partner, or shop at affiliated online or brick-and-mortar stores.
Finally, you can transfer them from Marriott points at a 3:1 ratio.
Using points
The points are then used:
- for the purchase of airline tickets on All Nippon Airways and all its airline partners,
- purchase of vouchers for flights, hotels and items in selected airport stores,
- free extra baggage in the hold,
- the purchase of vouchers for taxis or limousines, and more.
The status
There are three status tiers in ANA Mileage Club:
- Bronze
- Platinum
- Diamond
Each of them opens to benefits appreciated by the members. These include bonus miles, airport lounge access, seat upgrades, priority check-in and boarding. And so on.

What are the best transfer partners to ANA Mileage Club in Canada?
ANA Mileage Club is the loyalty program of All Nippon Airways, a Star Alliance member. In Canada, direct transfer options are limited, but the main partner is Marriott Bonvoy at a 3:1 ratio (60,000 Marriott points = 25,000 ANA miles, plus a 5,000-mile bonus for every 60,000 points transferred).
For U.S. members, American Express Membership Rewards transfers to ANA at 1:1, but this partnership is not available with American Express Canada. Canadians get around this limitation by earning Marriott points via the Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card or by using Aeroplan within Star Alliance for ANA tickets, rather than using ANA miles directly.
What are the ANA Mileage Club status tiers?
ANA offers three main tiers in its program: Bronze, Platinum and Diamond. Qualification is based on Premium Points, which combine distance flown, cabin multiplier, and bonuses tied to ANA flights.

Star Alliance Gold status earned via Platinum is recognized on Air Canada (Maple Leaf lounges, baggage, boarding) and across all Star Alliance carriers.
Why use ANA miles for Star Alliance flights?
ANA Mileage Club has one of the most advantageous Star Alliance award charts in the world for multi-segment tickets. The program was known for its Round-the-World ticket, but Star Alliance has stopped issuing new bookings of this type since June 23, 2025; tickets issued before that date remain valid, but it’s no longer possible to book a new one.
The best uses include:

How long are ANA miles valid?
ANA Mileage Club miles have a fixed validity period of 36 months from the date they’re earned. Unlike many programs, they are not reset by account activity: each mile has its own expiration date and disappears after 3 years, regardless of transactions in the meantime.
Diamond status holders benefit from an exception: their miles don’t expire as long as they maintain this top tier. For other members, the recommended strategy is to plan a redemption before expiry or wait for ANA’s occasional promotions that extend validity by 6 to 12 months for a fee. Miles transferred from Marriott Bonvoy keep their 36-month expiration date starting from the day of the transfer to ANA.
