The Blue Rewards contest in detail

The Prime Big Deal Days Contest is open to Canadian residents aged 18 or older who are Blue Rewards Members and have an Amazon account. It runs from September 28, 2026 (12:00:01 a.m. ET) to October 7, 2026 (11:59:59 p.m. ET). The sponsor is BMO Blue Rewards, Inc.

No purchase is necessary to enter. The official rules provide two ways to enter, with exactly the same odds: with a purchase of $130 or more at Amazon, or without a purchase, by email. Each gives a single entry.

Option A: enter with a purchase

1. Fill out the contest form on the official Blue Rewards page with your name, Member number, email address and phone number.
2. On October 6 or 7, 2026, sign in to Blue Rewards Shops and click “Shop now” on the Amazon page to be redirected to the retailer’s website.
3. Spend at least $130 before taxes, with an active Amazon Prime subscription.

Good to know: for the contest, the $130 can include products from Amazon categories that don’t earn base points. That isn’t the case for the multiplier offer, which only counts eligible categories.

Option B: enter without a purchase

Email your first and last name, full mailing address, phone number, email address and Blue Rewards Member number, along with an original essay of at least 100 words describing what you would buy with a $1,000 Amazon gift card. The email address and exact subject line are listed in the official rules. The email must be received by October 7, 2026 at 11:59:59 p.m. (ET). A Prime subscription isn’t required for this option.

Draw and odds of winning

The random draw will take place on October 22, 2026 at 2 p.m. (ET), in Toronto. The odds depend on the number of eligible entries received, and choosing option A or B makes no difference: the limit is one entry per Member, regardless of the method. Each selected entrant must answer a skill-testing math question, sign a release form and send a screenshot of their Amazon account within 5 days of first contact.

The points offer: up to 25x at Amazon

The multiplier offer is valid on October 6 and 7, 2026 only, and it can be combined with other bonus offers.

• 20x the points: on a purchase of at least $20 in eligible Amazon categories, in a single transaction, before taxes and after discounts. Maximum of 32,000 bonus points.
• 5x the points on top: if you pay with a BMO Blue Rewards credit card or from the Blue Rewards chequing account, on an eligible purchase of at least $20. Maximum of 8,000 bonus points.
• Total cap: 40,000 bonus points.

As a reminder, the base rate at Amazon through Blue Rewards Shops is 16 Blue Points for every $20 spent per transaction, excluding shipping, handling, duties and taxes. Blue Rewards allows up to 90 days after the offer ends to post the bonus points.

Eligible Amazon categories

At Amazon, only certain categories earn Blue Points, and the same applies to the multiplier offer. The list changed on August 1, 2026 and can be updated at any time: check it on the Amazon page of Blue Rewards Shops before filling your cart. These categories are eligible for a limited time:

What is it really worth?

The rules don’t specify whether “25x” includes base points. Our estimate uses the most common interpretation, 25 times the base rate of 0.8 points per dollar: about 20 Blue Points per dollar spent in eligible categories.

At the Blue Rewards reference value (1,500 points for $10, or about 0.67¢ per point), that works out to:

• $130 purchase at 25x: about 2,600 points, worth close to $17
• Estimated return: around 13% on eligible categories
• 40,000 bonus point cap: worth about $267, reached at roughly $2,000 in eligible purchases

It’s a good opportunity if you already had Amazon purchases planned. It’s not a reason to pad your cart: a Prime discount and 13% back in points are worth nothing on an item you didn’t need.

How to take advantage in 4 steps

1. Enter the contest now: it’s the step people most often forget, and it must be done before your purchase.
2. Check your Amazon Prime membership: it’s required for option A. Our Amazon Prime Canada guide covers the price and benefits of the membership.
3. Go through Blue Rewards Shops on October 6 or 7: sign in first, then click through to Amazon. A purchase made directly on amazon.ca earns neither points nor an entry. Shop in a web browser, not in the Amazon app, and not with an Amazon Business account. Empty your cart before signing in: items already in the cart don’t count. Blue Rewards also recommends clearing your cache and accepting cookies so the purchase is tracked properly.
4. Pay with your BMO Blue Rewards card if you have one, to get the extra 5x.

A tip from Blue Rewards: if you have points to use, an Amazon e-gift card is available from 1,500 points. You can then use it during Prime Big Deal Days. Just make sure this payment method doesn’t prevent Blue Rewards Shops from tracking your purchase.
