To the point Chexy is paying one month of mortgage payments for two winners, up to $10,000 each. Draws on September 14 and 21, 2026, with a free entry route available.

Chexy is paying one month of mortgage payments for two winners, up to $10,000 each. The “Free Mortgage Mondays” contest closes on September 21, 2026, with two draws: Monday, September 14 and Monday, September 21. You need to live in Canada, hold a residential mortgage and have a Chexy account.

Here are the exact terms of the Chexy mortgage contest and what the prize actually covers. Only one thing moves your odds, and it is not the one most people assume. The mortgage program page is the entry point.

What does Chexy pay the winner?

Each winner gets roughly one month of their regular mortgage payments settled by Chexy, paid straight to their lender. The cap is $10,000 CAD per prize. Two prizes are on offer, one per draw, and a single person can win only one of them.

The number of payments covered depends on your payment frequency, so that every winner receives approximately one month.

Your payment frequencyPayments covered by the prize
Monthly1 payment
Semi-monthly (twice a month)2 payments
Biweekly, accelerated or not2 payments
Weekly, accelerated or not4 payments

The prize applies to one mortgage only. If you have set up more than one with Chexy, you designate which one during winner verification. It covers the payment amount itself, without property taxes, insurance, condo fees, penalties or arrears.

Chexy pays the covered amounts to your lender on your usual payment dates, beginning within 30 days of verification.

Four ways to earn entries

Every entry lands in a single pool, whichever method produced it. The official rules set out four of them.

MethodEntriesLimit
Mortgage payment already active on Chexy when the contest opened100Once
First mortgage payment set up during the contest100Once
Each referred friend who sets up a mortgage payment100 per personNo limit
Free entry by email, no purchase100One per entry window

The referred friend must be eligible themselves and set up a mortgage payment during the contest period. They then receive their own 100 entries on top of yours.

Entries generated by script or bot are void. Chexy also applies velocity and device checks to referrals.

Free entry is worth as much

A properly written email is worth exactly the same number of entries as setting up a mortgage payment: 100 either way. Same pool, same odds. That is the most useful line in the rules for anyone reluctant to change how they pay their mortgage.

For the free no-purchase entry, email feedback@chexy.co during the contest period. Your message needs four things.

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your province or territory of residence
  • An original answer of at least 50 words to Chexy’s question: what you have done with the points or cash back you collected using Chexy

One free submission is accepted per person per entry window.

In practice, everyone starts at 100 entries whichever door they walk through. Only referrals multiply your odds: one referred friend doubles your weight in the pool, two triple it, and the rules set no cap.

What a Chexy mortgage payment earns

Setting up a mortgage payment with Chexy earns 1 Aeroplan point per dollar paid. The calculation is based on the amount remitted to your lender, principal and interest included, excluding the service fee. A 1.75% fee applies, charged to your chequing account. Points are rounded down to the nearest whole point.

On a $3,000 monthly mortgage, the example Chexy itself uses, that comes to 3,000 Aeroplan points for $52.50 in fees. At 2 cents per point, our usual valuation, those points are worth about $60. The month therefore nets you roughly $7.50, a return of about 0.25%.

Members chasing Elite status also collect 1 SQM for every 5 Aeroplan points earned. The cap is 25,000 SQM per calendar year in the Everyday Partners category.

The program runs from your bank account rather than a credit card, and it is limited to personal accounts.

Chexy is also running a welcome offer alongside the mortgage program: up to 7,000 bonus Aeroplan points. It ends on September 30, 2026.

  • 1,000 points when you open the account, once your Aeroplan number is added and your first payment is complete
  • Up to 6,000 points over twelve months, at 125 points per qualifying payment, capped at four payments a month

Opening an account during the contest therefore gives you three things at once. Your 100 entries, the points from your mortgage payments, and this welcome offer while it lasts.

Which card for your other Chexy payments

Your mortgage runs from your chequing account. Everything else Chexy accepts is paid by credit card: property taxes, insurance, utilities, tuition.

On those payments your card decides the return, and the 1.75% fee applies the same way. Three cash back cards suit recurring payments well, each for a different profile.

Click a card name for its full terms. The Rogers Red card is aimed first at Rogers or Fido subscribers, while the other two carry no such condition.

Who can enter the Chexy mortgage contest

The contest is open to legal residents of Canada, Quebec included, who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory. Two further conditions apply: holding a Chexy account in good standing, and being the borrower or a co-borrower on a residential mortgage with a Canadian financial institution.

Employees, officers, directors and contractors of Chexy, its affiliates and its agencies are not eligible. The exclusion also covers their immediate families and the people they live with.

The rules are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada.

How the winner is confirmed

The potential winner is contacted by email within 2 business days of the draw, at the address tied to their Chexy account. They then have 5 business days to complete three steps.

  1. Correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question, unaided
  2. Sign the declaration and release form, which allows publication of their first name, last initial and city
  3. Provide identification and a recent mortgage statement showing the borrower name, regular payment amount and frequency

The winner must keep an active, verified mortgage payment on Chexy for the prize to be fulfilled. Draws take place at approximately 10 a.m. Eastern Time at the offices of Chexy Technologies Inc. in Toronto. The full official rules are published by Chexy.
