Air Canada Rouge in Europe: 6 routes now active
Air Canada Rouge is now operating nonstop transatlantic routes to Europe on the Boeing 737 MAX 8, from Toronto Pearson, to Edinburgh, Dublin, Porto, Palma de Mallorca and Toulouse. The airline has also confirmed the transfer of three more European routes from its mainline fleet to Rouge for summer 2027, as part of an expansion that is set to bring Rouge’s 737 MAX fleet to as many as 45 aircraft by the end of 2026.
The Rouge network already flying this summer
Since the first 737 MAX 8 in Rouge livery entered service on March 5, 2026, Air Canada has gradually transferred seasonal transatlantic routes to this low-cost subsidiary. According to several aviation-focused sources (AeroRoutes, SimpleFlying, Travel and Tour World), the Rouge network out of Toronto Pearson includes nonstop flights this summer to:
- Edinburgh, Scotland
- Dublin, Ireland
- Porto, Portugal
- Palma de Mallorca, Spain
- Toulouse, France
- Reykjavik (Keflavik), Iceland, from Toronto Pearson
Rouge is not the mainline fleet
This Rouge network out of Toronto should not be confused with the Montreal–Palma de Mallorca route, launched on June 17, 2026 on Air Canada’s mainline fleet. These are two distinct products: Signature Business Class, Premium Economy, and included baggage on the mainline fleet, versus a low-cost offering on Rouge (12 business seats, 18 Preferred seats, 147 Economy seats on the 737 MAX 8, according to Air Canada).

According to AeroRoutes, which tracks airline schedule filings, Air Canada plans to transfer 3 European routes to Rouge for the summer 2027 season, on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

Toronto Pearson–Reykjavik is not a new transfer: Rouge has already been operating this route since summer 2026, and will continue it in 2027.
These dates come from an AeroRoutes report dated July 9, 2026, picked up by Open Jaw and Travelweek. They could change before Air Canada publishes the final schedules. In parallel, the airline plans to transfer up to 45 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to Rouge operations by the end of 2026; the remaining aircraft will follow in 2027.
How many Aeroplan points for these flights?
The Aeroplan program prices flights by distance bands rather than by city, and its chart has been revised since June 1, 2026. For flights of 4,000 miles or less—a band that covers most short transatlantic routes like Toronto–Dublin or Toronto–Porto:
- Economy class: from 32,500 Aeroplan points per segment, one-way.
- Business class: from 60,000 Aeroplan points per segment, one-way.
For slightly longer distances, the 4,001 to 6,000-mile band—which could apply to longer routes like Toronto–Palma de Mallorca or Toronto–Toulouse depending on the exact distance—business class starts at 75,000 Aeroplan points per segment, one-way.
