Flair Airlines: baggage, bundles and travel points

Flair Airlines sells flights from Canadian cities with a base fare to which baggage, seats, and other services may be added. Bank points, including Scene+, can reduce an eligible travel purchase. Before choosing a ticket, calculate the cost of the journey with the services you actually need.
Flair’s baggage policy distinguishes the personal item from a suitcase placed in the overhead compartment. A ticket that includes only the personal item therefore does not include a carry-on suitcase. Measure the packed bag, including wheels and handles, then check the services in the booking basket for each passenger. Charges vary with factors such as the route and the time of purchase. A fee displayed for one reservation should not be assumed to apply to every other flight.
Flair’s bundles page identifies renamed products: Basic was formerly Bare, Plus was formerly Basic, and Pro was formerly Big. Older names can still appear in documents, so read the actual services and conditions attached to your reservation. From September 15, 2026, Flair no longer sells the small 10 kg checked-bag product; its baggage page states that previously purchased bookings are honoured. This change does not replace the standard 23 kg checked-bag allowance.
The right bundle depends on packing and the flexibility required. One traveller with a small bag has different needs from a couple with two carry-ons and one shared checked case. Calculate services per passenger rather than assuming that everyone needs the same package. For Pro, read the exact change and cancellation deadlines and conditions attached to the booking. A waived service fee does not mean that every change of flight is free, and a more expensive replacement flight can still create an additional payment.

With Scene+ points, points can be applied to an eligible travel purchase under the program conditions. The Scotiabank Gold American Express Card is a card that earns those points. The flight remains a paid ticket: this method does not transfer points to Flair to access airline reward-seat inventory. Read the Scene+ terms applicable to your transaction before paying, including the purchase requirements and the redemption conditions.
First select the flights and required options. After paying with the eligible card, check the transaction description and amount in the account, then the credit the program offers for your points. If a seat or bag was purchased separately, do not assume that its receipt is part of the airline-ticket transaction. Check the eligibility and treatment of each expense you want to offset with points, and retain the purchase confirmation as well as the redemption confirmation.
Using points does not turn a ticket into a refundable fare or replace Flair’s conditions. If the dates change, the fare and services purchased determine what is possible and what remains payable. For a cancellation, distinguish any airline refund from the bank program’s treatment of the points credit. Review both records and retain the confirmations. Historical card promotions and former annual travel credits should not be used to price a new booking.
Before selecting a card, consider the expected points credit alongside the card fee and benefits you will actually use. Our credit cards guide presents Canadian options, and the points-or-cash calculator helps evaluate a redemption for a specific journey. Avoid applying for a card solely to offset a baggage charge without reviewing the product’s cost and offer conditions. If you already hold a suitable card, start with the points and benefits available on that account.
Consider a hypothetical booking whose flights, bags, and selected seats total CAD 250. That complete amount is the starting budget, rather than the advertised base fare. If the bank program offers a points credit for an eligible transaction, subtract the credit actually offered; do not assume that every points currency has the same conversion. For two travellers, add the services needed by each person. Sharing a checked case does not necessarily require buying two checked bags. Include a budget for any necessary services that have not yet been purchased.
Compare that total with another flight meeting the same needs: a suitable departure city, acceptable arrival airport, usable schedule, and required baggage. An earlier departure may require a taxi, and a different arrival airport may increase the ground-transfer cost. If one option adds an overnight stay, count the accommodation and transport. A lower ticket price can be offset by these expenses. Conversely, a direct flight with only the services needed may remain attractive after adding a checked bag. Match the actual journey rather than comparing two unrelated headline prices.
Consult Flair’s destinations and search your dates before organizing the stay. A listed destination does not establish daily departures from every Canadian city. For the airport, our Montréal–Trudeau lounges guide, Toronto Pearson guide, and Vancouver lounges guide provide practical information. Check the departure area and the access conditions: a lounge benefit associated with a card does not provide entry to every lounge. Also account for transport to the terminal and the time needed for baggage check-in.
When combining separate tickets, examine the connection time, baggage collection, and change conditions of the onward booking. Being able to buy two flights does not establish that their connection is protected. Before departure, reopen the reservation to check local times, exact airports, services assigned to each traveller, and check-in instructions. Keep a copy available offline. After a schedule change, review the ground transport, accommodation, and arrival pickup as well. If an intermediary issued the ticket, retain its reference and the airline reference when both are supplied, and identify the appropriate channel for changes.
For another Canadian carrier, our Porter Airlines guide presents another way to plan the journey. Search options that fit the actual dates and itinerary, then compare the services included. Follow our newsletter for loyalty-program changes and travel updates.
