Review: Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme | World of Hyatt
- Luxury

The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme earns an 8/10: a chic, quiet five-star hotel steps from Place Vendôme, bookable from 35,000 World of Hyatt points a night, with a comforting breakfast and attentive service. Its classic décor recalls the Paris of another era and its spa is small. For your points, the value is excellent.
I stayed here with a friend for a weekend in Paris to attend an electronic music show. We wanted a central, elegant address where we could rest after late nights. The hotel ticked all three boxes.
The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is at 5 Rue de la Paix, in the 2nd arrondissement. You are a 2-minute walk from Place Vendôme and less than 600 m from the Palais Garnier. The Louvre is about 1 km away, a lovely stroll through the Tuileries.
The hotel has 111 rooms, 45 suites and a private apartment. It is one of the most prestigious addresses in the World of Hyatt program in Europe. That is why we booked it with points rather than cash.
Architect Ed Tuttle joined five Haussmann-era buildings to create a Parisian residence. You will see bronzes by sculptor Roseline Granet everywhere, thousands of pieces placed right up on the guest room walls. The hotel holds a five-star rating, but Atout France did not renew its Palace distinction in 2026.
The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is a Category 8 hotel, the highest level on the Hyatt award chart. A standard room costs 35,000 to 75,000 points a night depending on the date and room type. We booked it directly online, with points, at the lowest rate on the chart.
The math speaks for itself. Cash rates regularly exceed $1,000 a night. At 35,000 points, each World of Hyatt point is worth close to 3¢, often more. Few hotel redemptions reach that value.
Hyatt's award chart changed in 2026. For the current categories, read our article on the World of Hyatt category changes.
Since the Aeroplan and World of Hyatt partnership, Aeroplan Elite Status members who have linked their accounts can transfer Aeroplan points to Hyatt at a 2:1 ratio. A 35,000-point Hyatt night then costs you 70,000 Aeroplan points.
We break down the math in our guide Aeroplan points to Hyatt: transfer or redeem for a free night.
The entrance sets the tone right away. During the holiday season, decorated fir trees framed the door and the effect was lovely. Inside, the décor stays understated: chic, calm and comfortable, with no extravagance.
From the moment we arrived, the staff took care of us. Check-in was quick, with the warm yet discreet tone you expect from a hotel of this calibre. You can tell immediately that this hotel plays in the big leagues.
Our room was a 30 m² Park King with a comfortable king bed. The windows keep street noise out well: the room stays quiet, a precious quality after a night out. From the window, we had a pretty view of Place Vendôme and the Paris rooftops.
The luxurious furniture leans into old-world charm, with a romantic style that recalls the Paris of another era. Some will love this décor and others will find it old-fashioned. Everything is spotless, well laid out and well lit, with bronze sculptures right up on the walls.
The room is not very spacious, which is normal in Paris. The space is well thought out and you will feel comfortable there for a stay of a few nights.
The bathroom is beautiful, in light stone with gold fixtures. You get a separate walk-in shower, a bathtub and a toilet inside the bathroom. Two plush, very comfortable bathrobes await you, along with amenities by Parisian perfumer Blaise Mautin.
The spa covers about 250 m², which is modest for a hotel of this category. You still get a whirlpool, a sauna and a steam room. Space is tight and water spills around the whirlpool, when it works.
The fitness centre, on the other hand, is complete. It has Technogym equipment and is open around the clock to hotel guests. If you care about your morning workout, you will be happy.
Breakfast alone justifies a good part of the score. It is served under a beautiful glass roof, in a cozy lounge where you feel a bit at home. Across the way, another small lounge also has seating.
You get a well-stocked buffet and very good à la carte dishes. During the holidays, the outdoor terrace was dressed for Christmas and very charming. It is a relaxing, comforting moment after a day exploring Paris on foot.
One drawback: service was a little slow on Sunday morning, probably because of the crowd. Allow some extra time if you have a train or a tour to catch.
The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is home to several acclaimed restaurants:
We did not dine at the hotel during this stay. If you have your eye on Pur', book well ahead, especially on weekends.
A points night does not cover everything. You will probably pay for meals, a drink at the bar or a spa treatment in euros. A card with no foreign transaction fees saves you the roughly 2.5% fee most cards charge.
The Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Card charges no foreign transaction fees, for $150 a year.
If you would rather earn Aeroplan points to transfer to Hyatt later, the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card remains one of the best cards to get started.

I give the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme an 8/10. The location, service, bathroom and breakfast live up to a five-star hotel. The spa is small for this category and the classic décor will not suit everyone.
At 35,000 points a night, it is one of the best ways to use your World of Hyatt points in Paris. We recommend it for a couple's getaway, a trip with friends or a special occasion.
