Review: Lufthansa Senator Lounge B Frankfurt (FRA) During COVID-19

After an excellent flight aboard Lufthansa from Vancouver, here I am at Frankfurt International Airport – Terminal 1, Hall B.

With a few hours in front of me before my connecting flight to Paris, I decided to stop at the first lounge I found: the Lufthansa Senator Lounge (B gates).

Plexiglas panels protect the first reception desk of the lounge. But no one was present, so I went straight to the lounge.

Relaxing spaces at Lufthansa Senator Lounge

No queues to get enter the lounge: after scanning my boarding card I started my tour of the lounge.

Everything seams clean: many employees work to clean and pass behind customers. Lufthansa lounges are usually known for their cleanliness. In these times of COVID-19, this is even more the case.

Stickers indicate that you need to leave some space between tables.

Many spaces are available for relaxing or working, all bathed in natural light, which is nice after a red-eye flight.

The food service

At the buffet, a sign on the ground indicates where you need stay to serve yourself (or be served during hot food hours).

The buffet appears a little more restricted than before the COVID-19, but it is still suitable with closed shot glasses to avoid contact with food.

A beer at 10:00 in the morning?

More like a cup of coffee!

As you can see, there is no shortage of places to eat. Also note the child seat, always appreciated by young parents!

On the other side of the Lufthansa Senator lounge is a bar where you can ask for any kind of cocktails. The bartender will insist on serving me a Gin Tonic, his classic.

Business center

At the entrance of the lounge, there is a business center with a printer/photocopier. Practical.

The light is not natural, I prefer to settle elsewhere to catch up with some emails and try to finish the Gin Tonic a little too strong at this moment!

Showers

A little before heading to my flight to Paris (at the other end of the airport), I decided to take a shower! Showers are at the left of the lounge entrance (note the lockers for your luggages if necessary).

Many showers are available: usually, you’ve to book (a pager is provided), but here all the cabins were unoccupied.

Conclusion

A good experience in this Lufthansa Senator Lounge at Frankfurt Airport. The staff is present and hygiene is irreproachable. The shower is a plus, which is well appreciated after an international red-eye flight.

In Frankfurt, during COVID-19, not all lounges are open: check Lufthansa’s website for opening hours.

And to make you dream of destinations, here is the departures’ screens, much more filled than Montreal of course.
