During a flight between Johannesburg and Cape Town on Mango (in economy class), we visited this Bidvest Skylounge at Johannesburg Airport as a family.
Audrey and I each have an American Express Platinum Card®. This card offers us a free Priority Pass subscription as well as unlimited airport lounge access for the cardholder AND a guest.
Thus, each of us can enter for free with our children. Since my mother was traveling with us, I brought her in using one of the 6 passes offered by my Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite* Card.
Technically, it must be in the name of the cardholder (meaning me) and then one of their guests (but here, I had entered with another Priority Pass subscription). But anyway… as is often the case, employees turn a blind eye 😉 Around 6:00 PM, the lounge is not very busy.
It was therefore not very difficult to find a quiet corner to relax.
In the middle of the lounge, there are many tables near the buffet.
Along the windows with a view of the terminal interior, there are high tables with international power outlets.
The buffet consisted of many small international snacks: African, Asian, and European.
In short, everyone can find something they like, especially since the quality is excellent!
And sweet / savory options for the children (and to take on the plane)!
South African wine and beer lovers will be well served!
The children were delighted: accessing airport lounges for free saves a lot of money when traveling as a family!
An excellent lounge in this terminal for domestic flights at Johannesburg Airport! I highly recommend it!
