At the John G. Diefenbaker International Airport in Saskatoon
The Saskatoon Maple Leaf Lounge is one of the smallest Maple Leaf lounges in Canada. But is it THE smallest? More on that in the conclusion. In the meantime, let’s take the tour!
Located at Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport (YXE), the Saskatoon Maple Leaf Lounge is nestled between Gates 5 and 6, right next to the Tim Hortons.
It is also the only VIP lounge at this airport.
How to access this lounge
At the entrance, a very friendly attendant welcomes guests. To get into the Saskatoon Maple Leaf Lounge, you need a ticket for a same-day Air Canada flight, and:
- a Signature Class, Business Class or Premium Rouge cabin ticket
- or Aeroplan Elite 35K, 50K, 75K, Super Elite or Star Alliance Gold status
- or a premium Aeroplan credit card such as the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, or an Aeroplan business card such as the American Express® Aeroplan®* Business Reserve Card

The Saskatoon Maple Leaf Lounge
The Saskatoon YXE Maple Leaf Lounge seats 40 people. Past the reception desk, the first thing you see is the bar on the left and the large windows overlooking the tarmac on the right.
The lounge is rectangular, and the paintings on the walls showcase artists from Saskatchewan.
Next comes a counter with food that is already prepared and packaged.
During our visit at lunchtime, there were 2 kinds of wraps, a marinated cauliflower salad, and raw vegetables with hummus.
At the far end, granola bars, cookies, fruit and bags of chips are available as snacks.
There are several drink options in a mini-fridge, along with the LavAzza coffee machine found in every Maple Leaf Lounge.
The staff is very attentive and always ready to help.
Tucked away on the far left, in the hallway leading to the kitchen, there is a photocopier for passengers who need one.
A long table with 2 computers sits in the middle of the lounge. At the very back, a large television is available to everyone.
The furniture is comfortable and in very good condition. Several power and USB outlets are available near the armchairs and tables.
The food was good, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and we were able to relax properly.
There is no washroom inside the lounge, however. You have to step out and walk a few paces toward Gate 6, to the public washrooms.
Conclusion
Opened in late 2018, the Saskatoon Maple Leaf Lounge has what you need to eat, drink and plug in. The atmosphere is warm and pleasant, which makes it a good place to wait for a flight at SKYXE. It is small, but it does the job very well.
On our trip from Vancouver to Montreal, going through Saskatchewan was not part of the plan. But given the circumstances, we were very happy to find a Maple Leaf Lounge at this airport.
