RBC to Asia Miles transfer promotion

From September 14 to October 16, 2026, you can transfer your points to Cathay Pacific’s Asia Miles and earn 15% bonus Asia Miles.

This promotion is offered by RBC Avion Rewards. So you won't see any sign of it on the Cathay Pacific side, nor on Asia Miles, but it will be on the Travel page of RBC Avion Rewards.

The minimum transfer amount is 10,000 Avion points.

The offer targets the Avion Elite tier, the one that comes with RBC's Avion credit cards. RBC ION and ION+ cardholders sit in the Avion Premium tier instead, which does not allow any transfer to airline programs. The promotion therefore does not apply to them.

For your information, here are the very few Asia Miles transfer partners in Canada:

With this promotion, if you convert 10,000 RBC Avion points, you’ll earn 11,500 Asia Miles including the 15% bonus.

For example, the current welcome bonus on the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card can reach 70,000 Avion points. Transferred during the promotion, that comes to up to 80,500 Asia Miles.

It’s enough to bring you closer to a business class flight, for example!

What to do with Asia Miles

Cathay Pacific connects Hong Kong to Vancouver and Toronto. The table below reads in two parts: first what it costs to leave Canada, then what the same miles buy once you are in Asia.

What a few Cathay Pacific awards cost when leaving Canada, and once you are in Asia. Converted into Avion points with the 15% bonus applied (one way, as of September 2026).
RouteCabinAsia MilesAvion points with the bonus
Vancouver to Hong KongBusiness91,00079,131
Toronto to Hong KongBusiness119,000103,479
Hong Kong to Bangkok or SingaporeBusiness27,00023,479
Hong Kong to TokyoFirst50,00043,479

The contrast between the two halves of the table is the useful part. A one-way business class seat between Hong Kong and Bangkok or Singapore costs less than a third of a long-haul out of Canada. Adding an Asian stopover to a trip you already planned is therefore far cheaper than paying for it in cash.

Bottom Line

This is a great promotion if you have Asia Miles travel goals in the coming months! And it allows you to postpone the expiry of your Asia Miles for another year.
