Enhanced Walmart Rewards Mastercard: Now Earn 3% Cash Back on All Walmart Purchases

Walmart Canada has just announced the launch of an enhanced version of its Walmart Rewards Mastercard, issued by Fairstone Bank of Canada.
Earn Rewards Even Faster
Previously, the Walmart Rewards Mastercard had the following benefits:
- 1.25% in Reward Dollars on all Walmart purchases (in-store and online)
- 2% in Reward Dollars at any gas station, on transportation and electric vehicle charging
- 1% in Reward Dollars on all other purchases
Previously, the Walmart Rewards World Mastercard offered the following:
- 3% in Reward Dollars online at Walmart.ca
- 1.25% in Reward Dollars for in-store Walmart purchases
- 2% in Reward Dollars at any gas station, on transportation and electric vehicle charging
- 1% in Reward Dollars everywhere else
But as of today, the Walmart Rewards Mastercard and the Walmart Rewards World Mastercard offer a similar and enhanced structure:
- 3% in Reward Dollars on all Walmart purchases (in-store and online)
- 1% in Reward Dollars on all other purchases
- Still with no annual fees
The only difference between the two will be regarding the new Delivery Pass benefit:
- Three months free on the Delivery Pass with the purchase of an annual subscription for the Walmart Rewards Mastercard
- Six months of free Walmart Delivery Pass when you purchase an annual subscription with the Walmart Rewards World Mastercard

The New Benefits of the Walmart Rewards Mastercard
With the recent update to the Walmart Rewards Mastercard, both card options have been simplified. There is no longer a distinction between purchases made in Walmart stores and those made online at walmart.ca. Now, you earn 3% cash back on everything!
Holders of the Walmart Rewards Mastercard see the reward rate for their Walmart purchases more than double, increasing from 1.25% to 3%.
Frequent users of gas stations and transit with the Walmart Rewards World Mastercard will lose out, as the 2% cash back on gas is now reduced to 1%.
Previously, the cards offered 5% Walmart Reward Dollars on eligible Walmart brands (such as George, Great Value, Equate, etc.). Unfortunately, the updated version makes no mention of this benefit continuing, which is disappointing.
However, all cardholders will now benefit from the new perk of 3 to 6 months of free membership when purchasing an annual Walmart Delivery Pass.
The New Walmart Rewards Mastercard
Existing holders of the Walmart Rewards Mastercard will automatically receive the new benefits on their current credit card starting today.
With no annual fee and even more rewards, these cards are worth considering if you spend a significant portion of your budget at Walmart, both in-store and online. If so, take advantage of the $25 welcome offer available on the Walmart Rewards Mastercard.
