Delta Air Lines: flights, cabins and points from Canada

Flying Delta Air Lines from Canada means comparing the route, seat, and fare conditions. A US connection can open up more destinations while adding formalities and travel time.
This guide focuses on Delta as an airline. Our Delta SkyMiles program page covers its loyalty program. Official information checked on October 28, 2026.
Delta lists Calgary (YYC), Montréal-Trudeau (YUL), Toronto-Pearson (YYZ), and Vancouver (YVR) among its Canadian travel options. Search your dates; frequencies and routes can change by season.
Compare nonstop flights with connecting itineraries. Check airports, terminals, and connection time. With separate tickets, allow time to collect bags and check in again.
Read “operated by” for every segment. Delta Connection identifies regional services that may offer a different product. A Delta-marketed ticket can also include a partner; it does not establish a Delta seat throughout the journey.
For a US connection, check documents required for your citizenship and itinerary. Allow time for border procedures even when the United States is not your final destination.
Compare the products actually offered: Delta Main, Delta Comfort, Delta First, Delta Premium Select, or Delta One. Delta Comfort and Delta Premium Select are different products. A premium long-haul cabin does not establish the same comfort on a regional connection.
Check the scheduled seat map. Not every aircraft offers a suite with a door. An aircraft change can also change your selected seat, including on a points booking.
Our Delta One Suite A350 review from Sydney to Los Angeles, published in January 2024, describes that historical flight. It helps explain the tested seat without promising the same product from Canada.
Delta offers different fare experiences in selected cabins. Its official July 8, 2026 announcement includes a transition: Basic Business retains Delta One Lounge and Sky Club access through January 18, 2027. For later travel, check exclusions and other access credentials.
Compare prices with seat-selection, change, and cancellation conditions. Sharing a seat product does not mean every fare includes the same services.
Delta’s carry-on policy allows 1 carry-on bag and 1 personal item free, subject to size limits and exceptions. Some Delta Connection aircraft require bags to be handed over at the gate because of limited space.
Checked baggage allowances and fees depend on the itinerary, product, and eligible exceptions. Use the estimate for your ticket. Do not apply a domestic US price automatically to a Canadian departure.
Before paying, add:
The Canadian cards discussed below are not US Delta SkyMiles cards. They do not automatically provide those cards’ baggage or status benefits.
Read the Delta Sky Club admission rules for your ticket and access credential. Delta Main Basic does not permit Sky Club entry. Status, membership, and eligible cards each have specific conditions.
A Delta One Lounge is distinct from a Sky Club. Check the particular lounge, travel date, cabin, and fare. Guest access can also differ from the traveller’s entitlement.
An American Express name alone does not establish entry: the Canadian Cobalt Card is not a Delta lounge card. Check your exact product and departure terminal.
Compare the same flights in both programs before moving points.
The currencies remain separate: a SkyMiles balance does not transfer into Flying Blue. Read our Flying Blue program page and Air France–KLM guide for the second route.
The historical SkyMiles guide, published in October 2023, provides background. For a current booking, check a bookable result and official conditions.
The American Express Cobalt Card earns Membership Rewards. The Canadian American Express program lists 1,000 Membership Rewards points to 750 SkyMiles. The US ratio does not automatically apply in Canada.
Check award availability before transferring. Use an eligible account in your own name; a transfer does not hold the seat.
The Air France KLM World Elite Mastercard® earns Flying Blue miles. It can help book Delta seats offered through that program.
Compare fees and how often you use Air France and KLM. Benefits tied to those airlines do not become Delta benefits. The card panels show current conditions and offers.
Delta provides an official SkyMiles purchase portal. Check account eligibility, price, taxes, and posting time. Buying miles does not replace Medallion qualification requirements.
If your Delta flight is available through Flying Blue, our affiliate link to buy Flying Blue miles displays the applicable offer. Milesopedia may earn a commission. This funds Flying Blue rather than SkyMiles.
Compare missing miles, taxes, and carrier charges with the cash ticket. Check exchange costs and cancellation terms too. Neither buying nor transferring holds the seat while you wait.
Compare the best credit cards in Canada for your intended program.
