As part of our couple’s trip through the Scandinavian countries, we were looking for a Copenhagen Marriott Hotel that was ideally located, with easy access to the main attractions and a beautiful canal-side setting. We stayed there for a full week during the holiday season, and the experience lived up to our expectations.
In this detailed review, I share my complete experience: booking with a cash rate, upgrade thanks to Titanium status, executive room with river view, restaurants, Scandinavian sauna, and surroundings. To earn Marriott Bonvoy points for a stay like this, also consult our tips below.

Booking and points rates
The booking was very simple, taking advantage of a long-stay discount. We opted for a cash rate on the most basic room, hoping for a potential upgrade upon arrival, which added a nice touch of anticipation to the experience. The points cost for this hotel generally varies between 45,000 and 55,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night, depending on the season.

Location and arrival at the hotel
The Copenhagen Marriott Hotel is located approximately 45 minutes by public transport from Copenhagen Airport. A stop is right next to the hotel, providing simple and direct access to the airport. By taxi, the journey takes about 30 minutes, although the cost can be quite high, an option we chose for the return trip. The canal-side location is also superb, and the main station is accessible on foot in 15 to 20 minutes. For connected travelers, public transport is very easy to use thanks to a mobile application that automatically calculates routes and fares.

Check-In and Lobby
The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays, creating an elegant and festive atmosphere upon arrival. The welcome was warm, though relatively formal, in line with efficient and professional service. Rooms were made available quickly, and we benefited from an upgrade to an executive room thanks to our Titanium status.

The Executive Room with a View
The executive room first impresses with its high ceilings and large windows offering a soothing view of the river and the neighborhood on the other side of the canal. Located on the highest floor, it allowed for an even greater enjoyment of the panorama and natural light.
The executive room: space, refined materials, and natural light.
Modern furniture and well-chosen materials create an elegant and contemporary atmosphere, perfectly suited for a prolonged week-long stay. A true little oasis by the canal, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the city.
The lounge area facing the canal, superb at sunset.
Restaurants and Dining
Copenhagen Pier Restaurant
The hotel’s main restaurant offers international cuisine and Nordic inspirations, with a simple but effective menu in a relaxed setting. Breakfast is also served there, except for elite members who enjoy a delicious buffet in the Executive Lounge, located right next to the Copenhagen Pier Restaurant.
Copenhagen Pier Bar
A more casual space located in the lobby, it is ideal for coffee or a drink at the end of the day. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing, with a pleasant view of the hotel’s comings and goings.

Scandinavian Sauna and Services
The hotel offers a complete range of wellness and comfort-oriented services. These include a modern and well-equipped fitness center, freely accessible to guests, with cardio and strength training equipment.
For relaxation, the establishment highlights a Scandinavian sauna experience on the terrace, with water views: dry sauna and a typically Nordic ambiance, sometimes complemented by « winter wellness » experiences (sauna, swimming, and relaxation by the canal). Having tried it myself, I loved it.

Around the Hotel
The hotel’s location allows you to fully enjoy Copenhagen on foot. Right at its doorstep, you can stroll along the canal-side boardwalk, ideal for walking, relaxing, and admiring the city’s atmosphere.
Tivoli Gardens park is also accessible within a few minutes’ walk, as is the city center and its lively streets. For good walkers, the iconic Nyhavn district can also be reached on foot, with a beautiful stroll through the city’s main attractions and canals. Overall impression and final rating
The Copenhagen Marriott Hotel offers an experience that is both elegant and soothing, perfectly in tune with the spirit of the city. Its canal-side location makes it a true urban refuge, where one can enjoy both the tranquility of the water and the proximity of the main attractions.
The modern and comfortable rooms create a real sense of space and relaxation, particularly appreciated for an extended stay. The general atmosphere is warm, without being overly formal, giving the hotel a welcoming rather than impersonal character. It is an ideal address for discovering Copenhagen at your own pace, between walks along the water and exploring the city. I give it a rating of 9 out of 10.
An elegant and welcoming urban refuge, by the canal, perfect for a long stay in Copenhagen. Between the river view, renovated rooms, and Scandinavian sauna, I would return without hesitation.
